  • @roland4240

    @roland4240

    5 жыл бұрын

    Bit of a long post, here's a summary: sand = insulation = longer cool time although a higher temperature would make it stay liquid longer, I suspect that the reason why it takes so long to cool to the point of solidification is the sand. He normally casts in his steel ingot mold which, being metal, would absorb quite a bit of heat from the molten metal rather quickly, and allowing the heat to escape on all sides. The sand however is probably rather insinuative, absorbing some heat, but not dispersing. this means that the heat can only escape upwards, into the air. Thus limiting how much heat could escape and slowing the process.

    honestly i have no idea i have never ever seen that b4 in my life . Maybe the copper had some other substance in it from the scrap i melted to make it more of an alloy instead of pure copper?? God knows matey .👍🍻

    Roland-231 that’s what I was thinking. I’ve done plenty of sand casting though and I haven’t seen it stay that liquidy. Maybe it’s the petrobond I’m using 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Roland-231 I am going to say that the answer is probably a combination of Roland's and BigD's answers. I think Roland is correct about the insulating effect of the green sand, afterall dry sand is used to allow metal items to slowly cool post welding and a metal mold is a far better thermal conductor than sand. As for BigD's answers, yes it is possible that you had some cross contamination occur and by accident you have created some form of copper alloy. Plenty of scientific advances have resulted from accidentally mixing ingredients in unintended ways or forgetting to check up on experiments. The trick will be in trying to repeat the event and then working out just how you did it.

    Actually mate I wasn’t a fan of Stella at all I normally go back to good old Corona beers but I’ve just started this beer that’s made in my state called mango beer and it is absolutely awesome if you like the taste of mangoes. I have contacted them and asked if they would like to sponsor me for free beer so time will tell as it costs about $80 for one case. But at the moment I’m still drinking Iron Jack . Having said that I would have to say my favourite is Corona 👌🏻😁

    2 things: when you say PROP MONEY every time you use it then it kinda takes away the fun of it; I understand that “people complain in the comments” well you’re starting to become a bigger and bigger you tuber ya gotta keep some things fun such as the prop money, second this isn’t that big of a deal, but the sides of your words with the fade in and out sometimes the letters get cut off a bit and it’s still readable but looks a bit worse than it can. Sorry to rant like this; I just wanna give ya some constructive criticism
