    I'm a huge fan of his videos and was ecstatic to see he was turning highway scrap into ingots. I'm currently working on collecting scrap I can store for future melting when I finally get enough workspace for it. But I want to do the same thing he's doing in this video.

    I teach a metallurgy class, and I take it and let the students melt stuff,.it's a blast, going to try that last brass one you did with the faucets, mix it with aluminum cans and let make alubronze. Should work ok, yes?

  • @bigstackD

    @bigstackD

    5 жыл бұрын

    Honestly not sure if that will work I haven’t mixed just brass and aluminium that I can remember but if you want to make aluminium bronze and you have copper that colour is absolutely awesome if you do 7% aluminium by 93% copper by weight you’ll get a beautiful golden colour . If you mix too much aluminium with the brass it will probably become very brittle the same is if you mix too much aluminium with copper It’ll be so brittle it can just break with a light hammer hit . But I am all self taught so definitely take everything I say with a pinch of salt👍🏻

  • @bigstackD

    Hey winter I don’t use the keg foundry any more as the external size of it is too big and bulky where the chamber size is exactly the same as my 10 kg devil Forge.And the devil Forge heat efficiency is twice as good. Although personally I love the look of the keg furnace it’s just quicker and easier to use the devil Forge, Plus I would need to put new refractory in it and it would just be super heavy to move😁👍🏻
