Trash Pickup Hopper View (H72)

***** cross contamination is a part of the game. if you don't like it.. don't watch the video. be advised that most collection routes have on average 800-1000 stops per day with some even more than that.. If there are a couple of carts that get mixed, no one cares. most of the crap gets sorted out at a MRF anyway. The state of recycling in the US is a joke so i'm not going to put up with your stupid comments about mixing. it is what it is and if you don't like it.. move on to another channel. Thanks.

Location: Shirley, Ma, USA
Truck: 2020 Mack LR640 Labrie Automizer 60/40 Split 37yd
Please note*
You may notice material sneaking under the divider panel. This was brought to my attention in a previous video and has been reported to our maintenance. Unfortunately it seems as it was a piece of steel that broke when the divider panel broke off a few months ago.The company refuses to fix this, So please keep your comments to yourself regarding stuff falling through this crack.

Great video! Sure some recycling mixes into the trash, oh well! At least its not trash going the other way! What is surprising in this day and age. is that the majority of people being serviced on this route neatly bag their garbage, and the vast majority of the recycling is actually clean. I didn't see any half filled ketchup bottles, car batteries and electronics! You will always have the idiot that puts Christmas lights, dog food bags and furnace filters into the recycling. Keep up the great recording and hopefully the truck gets fixed one day.

Looks like some material was sneaking under th- nah I'm just kidding lol. Seems like you've received a hefty number of negative comments unfortunately. Lived with split collection for years, in the coastal Bay Area of California and in San Francisco proper. Heck, the truck in my profile pic is a split body. Cross contamination really is unavoidable. Really can't blame the driver, you gotta switch that panel so much in a day even I would forget despite being a correct sorting geek lol. As said before, thanks for the library of lengthly hopper videos to soothe my analytical mind 😂

Thank you for your support. Yes it seems to only be former/current split body operators that can understand the struggle of co-collect operations! I delete almost every incoming comment that posts about an accidental contamination dump blah blah blah

It's a shame the manufacturer of the truck couldn't have engineered the tolerances a little tighter. When 1 qt Mason jars fit under your flipper, ..........😂

I definitely agree with you. I also place blame on the company for not getting input from a driver/operator on what they see

If people knew how to properly recycle cross contamination would be much lower, as far as dumping in the wrong compartment chitt happens.

Do you get to decide wich side is recycling and which side is garbage? Or is there some standard or rule you have to fallow?
