I caught 25 coyotes so far out a hunting club. Has a big creek on it. I have taken 12 otters out of it. 1 duke 220 in a otter slide has taken 7 otters so far. I had 3 otter sets out. Best season was about 3 years ago for me when the yotes was high and coons was a flat $10 for green coons. Like to see that again. 190 coyotes. 49 bobcats. 96 coons and 52 beavers and 116 rats.1 red fox. 1 gray fox 2 otters. Lots of catching. Scraping and drying. I wait until January to start. Gets me on trapping places after deer hunting. And drive about 120 miles a day everyday and check. I’m hard at it. Then it’s over. But trap for about 45 days.

@@jeromycooley-outwestadvent5790 trapped them all. I tried snaring a little this year for the first time without any luck. Next year I'll get em.

That’s great. I use a lot of snares, and it helps me diversify. I have to deal with a lot of frozen ground to set traps in, hence the need for snaring. I’m not sure what the weather in Virginia would be like in the winter, but traps may be all a person needs. Good luck on the snaring next season!

Thanks and good luck to you. Where I'm at we get more rain than snow in the winter months. The ground usually doesn't freeze where I can't make a hole in the ground. We deal with traps freezing up, especially trap coverings so dry dirt, peat moss, wax dirt and/or antifreeze is the norm.

Very nice. We have some pretty good frozen spells, but it doesn’t last all season. Usually it’s after Jan 1. I get a good solid month of decent ground, but after that, it’s get a little more difficult. I tried snaring years ago, just when it was the “perfect” snare hole. My dad is a great snaresman, and would always encourage me to use them. Once I got the hang of it, I would take snares over traps if I had to choose one or the other. My trapline is a 50/50 split on traps, ands snares. Some sets are definitely “have to have a trap” type, then some will be better with a snare. Good luck next season if you decide to pursue the snaring more.

Great question Every season is different, and can change during the season as well. Right now out coyotes are ranging $20-$45 average. It’s very unstable right now. I sell in a couple of days, and I’ll post sale results, and go into more depth on that video. Thanks for the question!

And every place/area is different. Mine will sell about the same or less. $18-$30 avg. what ever you expect. Most of the figure a little less. But all ways ask for MORE $$$$. I do. And most of the time I get more. Just by asking.
