You're doing a great service for the farmers. The pigs are costing the farmers real money and they have a direct effect on farmers livelihood. Farmers have it tough enough without the wild pigs.

But.....Interesting.......the price of land today....and seeing the neglect of the use of the land ! Trees in what use to be fence lines........but no woven wire fencing to keep hogs out ??? Seeing the corn crop as it is.... seems no herbicides were used ? I know its later in the year......... if open areas weeds do move in. But not like this ! No.. David Ellis is not the cause....its the farmers ! Seems so strange to me to see this ! Fenced with good weed control.......should be able to get 250 bushels per acre corn ? Thats 250 bushels ....times 5.00 $ per bushel corn....... equals 1250 dollars per acre. And its expensive to fence... control weeks ????? Please ! In this area people dont contend with the cold as in Iowa Nebraska .etc. Housing is cheap.... no need to bury water lines... cost of insulation for housing.... not much need for heavy clothing... I guess the southern folk are just a bit slower to catch on !!!!!!....

Your recognition of the financial strain these animals cause and the understanding of the tough circumstances farmers endure are crucial.
You have become a great asset to the farming community when you see how much damage these ferrule hogs do to their crops.
David, if you're not going to get a winch...maybe add a ramp to the trailer. The lifting of 200+ lbs just 12" will eventually harm your back.
@lynnmoser6918
9 ай бұрын
Yep, I attempted to make the same point a couple videos ago. It's not even lifting he tends to jerk them, ouch! I suggested a pair of ramp ends fitted to planks/slab for the dragging. They hook on and take off so easy. They can ride in the back of the truck. They would be short-ish... Once you've been rode hard and put away wet too many times well, just look at any swayback horse. I've been on a 3 yr journey of back repair myself. I care about him getting hurt, not being a critical Karen.

I'm a environmentalist and animal lover but sometimes we need to step in and make some corrections. Without a predator keeping the population in check it will only get worse in time. Great job getting things done.
You could never ever eliminate all these feral hogs. It is amazing how much crop these animals can destroy just amazing.
What a beautiful piece of property Brad owns. One of your best-looking episodes.
Hands down, you're the most prolific hog hunter in the country, Dave. You must have dispatched hundreds of them hogs, keep it up. You are a hard-working and dedicated hog hunter. Always loved watching your video. Yawt yawt.
It's tremendously important for people to understand that out of control feral hog populations are a factor in the shortage of groceries on store shelves and higher prices for what groceries there are. These hogs are taking food off of our children's and our grandparents' dinner plates when they damage crops!

Thats true!
So many people don't understand that these "wild" hogs are not native to the US, how much damage they can do to crops, or just how big a toll they also take on ground-nesting birds and their eggs. Here in Northern California where they are prevalent, they also destroy household water/irrigation systems , and do a lot of other types of infrastructure damage in rural areas. If a person considers how hard one of those hogs hits the side of your heavy trap, I hope that they can also see that any sort of normal farm fencing will never deter these critters. You provide a much needed service for your area and are very ethical with your catches.
You’re doing an awesome job and a great service for all the farmers. May the Lord richly bless you brother!🙏❤️👍
Im always proud of you David!!!! Keep culling them destructive things!!!!

WOW! David you are moving on up in the You Tube world! You just don't know how destructive wild hogs can be until you see what they can do to a corn field. But at east you two rounded up 50. Holy smokes! Those piggies have had their way for a while in that field judging from all the grass. Maybe he will be able to make it up by making silage out of it. There's a lot of little ones there (right eating size for even the ones that still had their fuzzy's) and no real big ones. That's good for next seasons crops and even better for upscaling the use ability of this culling effort. Setting some people up for the holiday weekend. Even better was the group of big ones that came next. When life is a balance like that you could almost call your buddy for help the day before you see them on your camera. As it wasn't necessary to open the gate. Just passing by it, We knew what awaits!🐷✝🐖😁👍 I hope somebody was in one of those rooms when you did the closing segment. Imagine hearing the turkey call in the hall and not knowing it was you. Art imitating life is fun when it works out that way.🦃🤣

With your fancy haulin strap it might be better to put your hand thru the bottom of the loop, reach up and let the loop rest on the top of your wrist and reach down and grab the "stem" of the strap. It will be a whole lot easier on your hands if your grip get tired. Basicly you'll be pulling iwth your wrist and not using so much finger power.
I used to play fishing games on my lunch break at work. The biggest ones were by the canned soup vending machine. Great fun.
Wowzer! What a haul!! Good on you!!

We don't have these in the far north US so I've only read and learned about them in stories. My friend who raised pigs warned me that they are smarter than the average person thinks and that boar looked like he would have wanted a piece of you if not for the fence. So sad to see a farmer's crop be destroyed. Need more people helping to keep the feral population under control as my understanding is the breed very fast as well. Good job. Those were some large feral hogs in the second pen.

There are other channels that stress this. It's a lot of meat! Some people don't want to eat them at all... then someone in Louisiana is saying "We're going to cook gravy pork for 150 people...". Here we're talking about a few tons of warm meat! It's almost like if you're going to set out to do this trapping you also want a huge refrigerated truck... and some portable meat-processing hardware. Maybe a ton of pork is worth as much as the silage?? In my own life a pound of meat lasts a while, so it's hard to imagine.
Great having a helper, especially someone of stature.

Good videos I enjoy watching more of them! Be safe and have a good day!
THINK! “All but 1 could FREE THEMSELVES if ALL ran ONTOP of one and … OVER the fence.”
Only way to protect the corn crop as much as possible, is to fence it in, preferably with electric fencing with a double strand of electric wire. Shock the crap out of those little boogers. I know that would be expensive in larger cornfields, but in smaller fields, it’s possible. Of course, you still need to trap and get rid of the hogs.
