A lot of you have been asking for some live violin, so I decided on this piece! I got to dust off and finally use my glockenspiel in something....and check out my conjoined quadruplet action xD.
In the movie, 'Young Doctor Frankenstein', this melody was used to control the 'monster'. Can't tell you how much I adore this film, please check it out if you can! XD First commenter with a Frau Blucher joke gets a cookie. :D
Sorry for the amount of white noise/static....I find it difficult to record violin properly in my tiny studio - no bowing room!!! - so I recorded it all in our front room.
YT unsynched my video slightly from the audio, and also degraded my video and audio quality quite a bit...if you'd like to see it the way I intended, please visit my nico nico douga upload of it:

haaaa, It's okay ^^; Almost no one online knows that in real life I'm a violinist first and a singer second, especially since on YT I've barely even used my main instrument ^^; It might be a shock to some that only subbed for singing...but hopefully in time they'll accept that every now and then I will use my violin :)

My mom is a violin teacher, and so I pretty much grew up with the violin - 20+ years now! You should have heard me when I was in my late teens, I was at my peak then and usually practiced 3 - 4 hours a day o_o No time for that anymore, although I try to keep up the basics daily!

This piece is meant to be played on violin - In the movie, there aren't vocals, just the violin playing the melody, so the violin is center stage in this composition. Unlike my other arrangements, the violin is the 'main' voice, and carries the melody, which is why it is 'up front' in the mix, while my vocals are only the backing instrument. Make sense? ^^

Lilla Edit Kárpáti You said you're blaming those from Trianon cause they decided the fate of hungarians from Transilvania. Ok, I understand that and it's terrible what happened to them BUT...the procent of hungarians in those times was less than 20% and the procent of romanians was almost 70%. (And 10% germans). The population of Transilvania was almost (appproximate) 6,5 million souls, so do the math and see what ethnicity had more problems...romanians or hungarians? Don't forget that the romanians from Transilvania (in 19th century) were oppressed by hungarian goverment and they had less rights than hungarians. I don't say that after Trianon, hungarians were well treated by romanian goverment. Now say, who had more rights for Transilvania? The hungarians had decided the fate of millions of romanians for hundreds of years and I am blaming the hungarians for that. I am deeply grived for my ancestors for what they suffered. PLEASE, learn the history about Transilvania before Trianon and you'll see who had suffered more. I ended my pleading. Have a good day! :)

The perfect tune for winter lights. Cracks my heart with sorrow and twinkles like the stars.

Absolutely fantastic! Kate you always know just how to make a piece overflow with emotion - I can close my eyes and listen to your music and find myself in a picture painted with each note.

No matter how many times I watch your videos, or how many new ones you put out... I am still every bit as amazed as I was (if not more) when I watched one of your videos for the very first time. Your talent is ASTOUNDING! Well done. This is a beautiful piece, like all your others.

Oh my. This is divine. I originally clicked because I thought it was a song I'd heard on BtVS forever ago, but this gave me so much more than expected. Something to soak in and share, that's for sure.

I've listened to them all and this is the best violin performance outside of the original soundtrack.

It’s not often you see someone with this level of talent. Though words alone do you no justice, I hope you’ve done well with what you had. 5 years since the last video.. a lot can happen in that time. As a fan of the beauty you have made, I hope you do return to spreading the wonderful feeling you gave so many people with your music 😊

I cannot believe I have passed up your videos before now, simply divine, you are a musical genius, and artist, able to make your voice a more beautiful instrument than any I have heard, combined with an instrument as you do, it sounds like the gates of heaven and hell are opening to listen to your lovely music.

Magnificent! It is rare to find someone who can play the violin so well. You have truly mastered performing and arranging a piece to be at once peaceful, haunting, and beautiful. I look forward to your next piece.

As always an incredible job, KatetheGreat! It really fits the mood of Halloween without becoming overly dark as some people tend to do with Halloween tributes, this work is very akin in subtlety to your full version of "Come Little Children". Another beautiful piece of music
