Hope you had a good Christmas ride. At the beginning of the video you spoke of different length screws for the rachet lid and that yours were all the same. The two long ones are behind the shifter, two deep holes. Dirt and crap collects in those two deep holes and makes it difficult to get the screws out. I have some foam that I stuffed in the holes to keep the crud out, then sealed that to keep out water/rust. I had the lid off mine a couple of weeks ago to adjust the shifting forks, it is still on the bench, so I went out to count. I have 9 short ones and the 2 long ones plus the breather. I should put it back in the bike but I've been lazy. You probably did some of that off camera. My box is running FX gears so the jockey shifting is first to the back and second, third and fourth forward, my understanding is that the FL units shift the opposite. I need some of your energy. ☺

Put the 26 on trans and 49 on wheel. It will keep rpm down at present day highway speeds. Besides, it will give you. outstanding gas mileage. The shift fork was probably pushed up against the gear and had the barrel in a bind. That's why the top didn't want to come off.

It's gotta be the dowel pin holding you up. Try bringing it up staight as possible. Spray it down with some penetrating oil, let it soak. They can get a little oxidized.

Ive got a long sawzall blade..ground off the teeth..ground off the mounting tab..ground off the front point..so when i get into a situation like this..its thinner than a screwdriver..wont marr up the gasket surfaces.. Good luck getting that one apart..

I’d say the fork adjustment is shit on it but hell I don’t know . Keep on keepin on man!

Good video, I put a clamp on the back of the adjustment plate with a spacer between the plate and bench and clamp it down to your work bench. I have a suggestion for you on filming stuff like this. Instead of putting your camera behind you, put the tripod on the end of your bench by your door, so we can see what you're doing better. The way you have it we can't see very well plus your body is in the way. Not busting you but just trying to help you to have better videos. Thanks and I love watching videos like this. Later bro
