i think when you know you have a good product and a good fan base you can do that and it works out well. a lot of companies are fighting hard for a piece of the pie and have inferior products or are so mass produced nowadays like holley that they've abandoned this approach. hughes seems like a great company.

@@dandewar8403 you can 4L80E (or 4L85E) swap an LS-based vehicle and re-use the original PCM to run the 4L80E after performing a segment swap in the PCM via HP Tuners (or similar). We sell a conversion harness that installs between the 4L60E harness and 4L80E case connector to help make the conversion very simple instead of having to re-pin the vehicle harness. Harness part number 25-120 covers 4L80E & 4L85E transmissions from 1993-2006. Harness part number 25-121 covers 4L80E & 4L85E transmissions from 2007-on. 1991-1992 4L80E transmissions require an update to the 1993-2006 internal wiring harness & case connector (which we also have available).

If i am not wrong the ZF transmissions actually use a torque converter lock up clutch that uses fluid pressure to engage the lock up clutch and not disengage it somebody correct me if i am wrong.

he he, 'Turbin' pressure. Must be the pressure your turbin pushes down on your head.

We've only built a few thousand 47RH, 47RE, and 48RE torque converters. Not as much experience as some, more than others.

@@HughesPerformance built alot of triple and "quad" friction converters? would think with how brutal a 2000hp 6bt is on torque, putting a similar lockup design behind a 1300-1800hp gasser would be a cake walk

@@whatchu_talkin_john_willis yep, multi-disc diesel converters are no problem. Built plenty. Building a lock-up diesel converter vs. a lock-up converter for a high-HP drag racing application require different approaches depending on what transmission is being used. The technology doesn't always cross over. A 5,000+ horsepower Pro Mod engine puts a whole different load and strain on parts than a 2,000 horsepower 6BT.

We aren't the type of company to operate or market via the smoke-and-mirrors approach. You've already made the assumption that we don't know what we're doing with Cummins diesel converters with your initial comment.
