Transitioning from Teaching to eLearning & Instructional Design | Community Roundtable Discussion
#eLearning #InstructionalDesign
If you're a current or former teacher looking to transition out of the classroom and into the world of eLearning, instructional design, or corporate L&D, it's important to find solid, real-world advice from those who have actually made the journey.
So, in this Community Roundtable Discussion, my panel of former teachers, Sara Stevick, Jacob Broadhead, Karyn Dunn-Kiprotich, and Elsbeth Seymour, discuss and answer questions about transitioning from teaching to eLearning and instructional design.

Thanks for watching! I'm glad you liked it!
Thanks for all of your useful and practical advice.
Another great chat! I particularly wrote down: part of learning a tool is learning HOW you learn tools so you can apply it to the next one. YES. And good reminders about how your first ID job may just be that - your first. I do grow a bit weary of people making a career pivot only looking at the highest end job. And your quote at the end about learning or earning at the end is SPOT ON.

Loved this! What is TLPD?
I have been doing a ton of learning about everything but scared to leave a known income, been teaching for 20 years

Thanks for sharing, Kristina! There's always risk when making a big transition...however, my best advice is to use this time (while you have your known income) to build your skills, so that you can reduce the level of risk when you finally decide to make the leap. You can do it!
