I think were a little disappointed that the tint did not work

I remember when my dad bought the Transition glasses when they first came out in the 80s (I know this seems off topic), I came in the house and he had his glasses on the kitchen counter, sitting on the chair. I asked him why he wasn't wearing them. He said these stupid things have been sitting here for 20 minutes! So, I guess that's what happens when people buy the 1st model out on the market. A little over a minute to go on the video. I googled Transition car windows and seen this video. I figure seeing is better than reading about something I'm interested in learning about. Cool video.

The light meter has two halves, one goes on the inside and one on the outside. To measure accurately the outside half will send a known strength of light through to the inside half, which has a sensor to pick up how much of that light makes it through. This info is sent back to the outside half to give you a reading. Watch closely and you'll see it!

can this be placed behind chameleon tint? Privacy of the chameleon tint combined with the uv/heat reduction of the transition tint without sacrificing night time visibility.

Santa Rosa window tint on Santa Rosa CA. It did not work on my car because my glass blocked UV light

Hey there. Thanks for reaching out. We used Coolvu Window Film. Nice charcoal color and transition works well in most applications. We here really like working with Geoshield Window Films 70% ceramic. Very user friendly, great real life performance, and great people running that business.

The glass in my cheap jeep blocks enough uv my transition lenses from darkening... Id expect a porche would have at least as good performance.

Yes all laminated windshields block 99% UV and if the side windows are also tinted with a film there’s no UV entering the vehicle.

@@GlenEdwards my sides are untinted and no clear film that I can see.. I think the newer safety glass blocks uv on its own pretty well any more...

@@AlanDike the side glass might be laminated too, as was the case with this car in the video. You can see if it’s laminated when you roll the window down and look at the top edge of the glass, if it’s laminated you’ll see the two layers of glass, but if it’s normal glass it’ll just be one solid rounded edge.

@@GlenEdwards I'd bet it is.. or it has an additiive when made. I think it's the standard here in the US to be uv blocking... I'm not sure you can purchase a car that DOESNT have it on all glass built in the last 15-20 years here.. Maybe even longer

I think it will as long as the visor does not have a UV filter or you put it on the outside

The only thing that changed color was Bobs grey hair how bout we tint that.Hope ur Mom doesn't get mad for messing with her car 🚗

I have the solution! Put a big UV lamp inside the car which comes on when you start the car. Tint go dark boom! Ur welcome. 😂

It was not an easy film to install. So we installed in one glass and checked if the transition would work. But because the glass has UV filter it did not work

I’m guessing they did both front doors, not just one. They clearly did the passenger front door, we could all see the difference between the door glass and the small side window behind it.
