Transition from Co-sleeping To Montessori Floor Bed

It's time transition from co-sleeping to Montessori floor bed. Jacob is now confidently crawling and we feel it is not safe for him to continue to sleep in our bed so we are moving him into his nursery and on to a Montessori floor bed. Follow our transition. Jacob still doesn't sleep through the night and he is nearly 12 months old. The floor mattress makes it easy to settle him, or simply bed down next to him. I would love to hear about your experiences with your child and how you are getting on with sleeping. Obviously every child is different but it's always great to get advice from other mums and dads.

========= MY FILMING EQUIPMENT =============
My favourite toy is my DRONE geni.us/BoP0Us I highly recommend the 'fly more' package, I didn't go for it and then went back to buy more batteries because flight time of the standard package just isn't enough.
For steady shots I use my GoPro 5 geni.us/adventurecam5 along with the KARMA GRIP: geni.us/SteadyShot
My main camera for nice looking shots is a Canon 70D: geni.us/AnnasMainCamera And never underestimate the difference it makes to get a good quality SD CARD: amzn.to/2lV3UJu
Also sound on the Canon is not good enough for video so I use the SHURE MIC: geni.us/AnnasShureMic this is the best thing I ever bought.
When vlogging I need an easy to carry, ready to go camera and so I have a specific VLOGGING CAMERA: geni.us/4Wxbl6y
And finally for editing I use Final Cut Pro X on my

    So happy to come across your video. We also co sleep and we just started to set up his montessori bed and nursery. He’s 7 months hope it goes well!! Love that I actually found something relatable to his stage.

    You two did so well! 😍 We tried independent sleeping tactics for 6month to a year old (don't recommend) and eventually just decided to co sleep our baby at night and had her nap in her crib during the day (she does sleep independently for those). Now she is 18 months and I randomly found a toddler bed frame outside my home, cleaned it up and had our first nap session yesterday. We do montessori at home with almost everything aligning but sleep was always a struggle because we were gifted a crib (instead of using a floor bed) and felt we had to use it. Dad and I decided to do naps in her toddler bed and still cosleep with me at night until we feel it's best for her to move to her bed. We also live in a one bedroom apt (800 sqft) so we definitely have to be creative ! Loved watching your journey. I recommend a montessori parenting style. It is absolutely amazing what the children can do.

    My two year old Mathilda just transitioned from her cot to a proper bed (bottom bunk with her sister above). She loves it, but yeah - she also likes to get up and play in the middle of the night. The first night she put ALL her books in her bed. She has a lot of books!

    that interested me when I read in the description how he wasn't sleeping through the night yet by 12 months, and you guys co-slept like we do. my child woke up once a night til she was 12 months old. even now, she's 17 months old and she'll still wake up in the middle of the night once a week. there probably isn't a connection between bedsharing and them being 12 months and still not sleeping through the night, but it is a coincidence

    We bedshared with twin size floor bed. We are always responsive. ALL children will eventually sleep on their own. The obsessions with independent sleep so early is very odd and a western cultural theory.

    Yes we slept in with Jacob most nights until he was two. We wanted to keep him in our bed for longer but we’re nervous about him crawling off the edge of the bed. Now happily co-sleeping with our second son...though we aren’t getting much sleep at the moment lol.

    All the health and child authorities in the USA say that co sleeping and bed sharing will increase the likelihood of infant death due to SIDS. I respect others decisions, but have been to scared to sleep with my daughter.

    @@fighttheevilrobots3417 actually they say the exact opposite. Thatbco cosleeping till the first year reduces the possibility of sudden fondant death beacuse of the coordination of the child s breath with his parents

    Darling, if you only tried the new arrangement 1 night, it is understandable it was rough. When I tried to stop my son from waking me up at night, I was told it would take 2 weeks to get used to the new routine. It luckily only took a few days, but I was prepared to temporarily lose even more sleep than before to get long term results. So anyways, try it out for more than a night or 2. It might help him feel more secure if you stick with one method and just see it through. P.S. Did you stop making singing videos?

    Baby follow your energy if you are unsure they feel it, they feel your nerves just relax to parents out there just put baby in the crib if cry put gently as you lay them down softly a small stuffed animal to hug between arms but really just feel confident as you putting baby in crib that they will not awaken the baby is fed, clean,no colic so put the baby in crib even if you wake up to check the baby the baby is safer in its crib I knew someone that accidentally suffocated the baby while sleeping plus babies are around your coughing, gasing, all stuff body does uncounteously while sleeping if breast feeding and tired wanting to go to sleep baby feels you are restless so relax give in to fact you will go to bed eventually and before you know baby is asleep same goes for feeding babies will eat what you give them if you start asking what do you want to eat or where do you want to go YOU are creating a child with hangups that develop many times into insecure, low esteem, secluded, adults YOU are the creators of the behavior
