    At last, someone who knows what wd40 is. Some people think it's magic stuff but I hate it. Only use it if I'm taking off a rusty bolt etc. As you know it has no lubricating properties at all. For me I use old engine oil for things that need oil, I even paint my wooden shed with it, works a treat. Recycling see.... Silicone spray for lecky windows works well for me.

    Hi Kev, WD40 is as good as anything but DUPONT "Teflon" Silicone Spray is the best as you only need to do it once.

    Hi Mr J, I have used silicone spray before, but had none left. I would still had to do it once a year as the road salt and silt gets down in there and with having the wind deflectors in behind the rubbers as well, I think I am just a little over with the amount of times i do it. But you could see from this video, it did need it this time.. Cheers Bud

    Hooooo YES.. I had owned a garage. if any one was found with a can in their bag was fired.. It is airborn and if it lands on paint, it berries its self and plays havack with painting. Silicone has cost me a large fortune in the past with total stip down and repaints.. first you see is fish eyes and no after product can get rid of them..

    I used to use a silicone spray lubricant on the door window guides and you didn't get as much oil streaks on the windows. How long do you get out of that small fuel tank running your heater?

    Hi Stephen.. 2 or 3 hours at night 1 hour or so in the morning, and it will last me 2 to 3 months.. I did do a video on it. I have got the german 1kw eberspatcher and I ran it flat out for 6 hours with window and doors wide open to stop the stat cutting it off and the fuel only went down in that tank by 10mm. I have owned that heater for over 30 years and has been run 98% of the time on red diesel.. It has only had one new glow plug in its life and that was about 10 years age.. Cheers Bud

    @@WonderingWomblehi sorry if it's out the blue but I'm now struggling with ideas passenger door won't open I'm guessing it's the dead lock not deactivating I can unlock the manual lock but still won't open

  • @WonderingWomble

    @WonderingWomble

    Ho wow that is a problem, they have got tamper proof covers welded over the lock inside the door. It might be a break in the wire at the hinges, as the door is open and closed repeatedly it breaks the wires. The only other way to try and get the dead lock off is to unplug the loom in the front door post and find the right 2 wires and touch power down them to the lock. this won't put power to anywhere ells in the van as you have unplugged it. The red box I showed in my video is the control for the central locking, but don't do the wire job to the driver door.

    NO. wd is oil & petroleum base, and will evaporate, silicone that i use is teflon based and stays on the surface longer..
