    One of the most interesting things about secular philosophy of ethics is that they can provide a sound diagnosis of human corruption and selfishness, but they run short on permanent solutions due to their rejection of Jesus Christ and His lordship over sin and death. They basically make common sense propositions, like "Don't be selfish, and always remember to help people." Yeah, that sounds good, but how does good advice address a corrupt heart? We need transformation, not just information. When you reject the Word of God as your ultimate authority, you lose any valid cure for your problems. It's that simple. The way, the truth, and the life - God bless

But the thing is what I think is good and bad is different from what someone else may think is good or bad leading us to deception and corruption.

    boi aint nobody rejecting jesus lol, you'd have to believe in something's existence if you think you can turn away from it. Just like I don't reject hercules or vishnu, and i hope you don't reject them either, because that would mean you believe they are real entities, and at the same time you don't want anything to do with them because you disagree with some part of who they are, what they do, or what they represent, by your definition. At most, people reject the proposition you hold. The the whole planet is covered with believers of different faiths, and it is people like you with such strong stubborn convictions that lead crusades and other "holy conflicts" to justify what usually is greed masked in zealous. How can anyone, given the variety of faiths and their striking similarities, be so bold to say they alone are correct, and with that every dated absolute in their holy book is fact, meaning anyone who doesn't believe or as you put it "rejects" shall be punished. There are people on this planet who will die never hearing about your faith or many others, they will only know what they are exposed to and make decision based on that, just like you. If it wasn't for the environment you grew up in you wouldn't be christian, you aren't blessed or "chosen" you're just another person working with what they're given and its ok. It's not ok to be so sanctimonious when there are muslims, buddhists, sikhs, etc. standing next to you atop the same holy little hill proudly exclaiming they "know the way" and the rest of the world needs to get with the program. We're all one in 7 billion, shouldn't that be humbling. I'm not saying I know the right way to live or see the world, but anyone who says they do (especially if 3 billion other people are saying the exact same thing and they are no different from anyone else) is dangerous. I don't think putting the responsibility of your all crimes against humanity on someone else is healthy, and i'm here, watching these videos, to seek universal truths that are present in most religions, I watch this channel like I watch other faiths', to know what's out there, and to filter the bias that comes from the cultures that produce them. I'm just saying all of this because history has shown your approach has done more harm than good.

    @@stuartjones8787 - My convictions are as strong as yours, friend, making us equal in that regard. What is your central dislike of the Christian faith as presented in the Bible?

  • @stuartjones8787

    @stuartjones8787

    @@bobpolo2964 its limited cultural prospective (that's my issue with most faiths) a book limited in geographical/ cultural scope to the middle east, north africa, and roman empire that claims to know the way is just as valid and evidence based as any other faith. If not less since it's clearly an evolution of judaism, which also claims to know the way, god's will, and what not. Also the amount of suffering that comes from interpretations of such a "perfect and well preserved" text. What god would allow his word to be weaponized against innocents. How many potential believers have been turned away by the history of violence and exploitation Christianity has. Usually its parts of the more violent old testament that inspire genocides and crusades. Why would the christian god keep the old testament if he knew it was so easy for hes followers to miss the fact that jesus/ the new testament undoes or washes away much of the old testament's traditions and ideas. Though many Christians don't believe the first council of nicaea dictated which books of the bible were canon, it still introduces a very real doubt to the vision of a sacred unaltered text. A doubt that can be applied to any religious text that has been shared, translated, and/or passed down for any amount of time. But why would god allow his word to be changed and possibly corrupted, it doesn't make any sense? It doesn't, yet faiths change and evolve, some to the point of becoming new religions. Confusion wells up after years of translation. Why are so many people fixated on the name 'unicorn' in modern english versions of the bible, because the translation from hebrew/aramic to greek then latin then english lost much of the cultural significance and meaning that the original text had. the name refers to an extinct hoofed animal that was common back then. Far from an error-less. Obviously Christianity is unique. It has its own experiences and histories, but in no way, by evidence of its followers, it is superior to any other. For every saint there is a sinner. And the both justify themselves by the same means, the bible. No faith produces better people. You asked what issues i have with Christianity, but many of these point can be applied to other religions. What are your personal reasons for your convictions?

    I've felt that I've betrayed God's trust so many times. In my efforts to repent, it seems like I fall back into the same old pitfalls. Yet Christ has suffered the consequences of my "fall" so that through him I can be trustworthy again, thus Christ enables God to continually support me. Christ, by suffering separation from the presence of God, which should have been my fate, allows me continual chances to retry as long as I have faith in him. Christ has made it possible for me to continue to have a relationship with God and to continually better myself to become a part of the Kingdom of God. In short, Christ puts me on the same team as God. He will continue to trust and support me so long as I continually submit to repentance and keeping the commandments.

    This is fascinating! I’ve often wondered the difference between all these “bad words” like in Psalm 51 where David uses “sin”, “transgression” and “iniquity” all to describe his errors and ask YaHWeH for forgiveness! Thank you TBP for your efforts at clearing this up. ✞

    It's hard to find that kind of bíblical comprehension and explanation: profound and simple at the same time. May God bless you in the name of Jesus.

    Thank you so much for this video! It beautifully demonstrates the relational devastation brought on by transgression. One thing I'd love to add is that in Romans 5:18, "transgression" (paraptoma) comes to "all" through Adam's sin, and yet "righteousness and life" come to "all" through Christ's obedience!
