    This was really helpful. I had seen a couple of videos with people who are obviously professionals and that's not me. It was good to see a regular person struggling and work around it. You're going to save me some paper because I would have tried to go all the way across it the same way you did. The question I have about the contact paper is how well does it hold up in a wet environment. What's been your experience? Thanks again

  • @BrittKayy

    @BrittKayy

    Жыл бұрын

    Thank you! I tried my best that was my first time doing a project like this. The contact paper held up very nice. It remained in tact through my entire 1 year lease. No water problems, I still cleaned and wiped down my sink with colorox wipes and the paper remained nicely.

    You’re right, I found that doing it vertically helps with less lines and it’s easier to blend. You only have to worry about the vertical line at the top behind the faucet and toward the bottom. For future DIY with this in the sink, I’ll apply vertically💕💕

  • @kristenneal

    No, unlikely to work. If you do attempt to, definitely have a hair dryer handy and heat the paper to wrap around the sink Area. And cut one piece for just your sink area, what you’ll end up running into is the sides coming up so it will be a temporary fix at best. Like very temporary

    I am so grateful for all the mistakes and struggles it helps me and I'm sure a lot of others the only suggestion is that before anyone gets started purchase a plastic bind with a lid that will fit on top shelf and not under the sink or garage, buy extra paper, put every thing you used for that DIY in the box scissors, tape, plastic card (no cc) trust me you might have to take it off the roll to fold into a square . Although I got my paper from the Dollar Tree to cover my ugly mismatched vertical blinds with the weird valance in my living room I rent so having had horrible owners have been living here since 2014 my lease allows me to redecor my everything (check your agreement) you might have to put back the same condition your found it that is stellar for me and you might get evicted. Back to me found the color that I want to cover my sink and counter in the kitchen a gold pattern that more in line with me at the Dollar General a few weeks back and more of the same of the other pattern. Second is to know what surfaces you are planning to cover using your own style save you the aggravation in my case my good friend has excellent taste and used the Marble and no matter what it gave me a headache trying to imagine the extra decor. The initial purchase cost me around $10.00 plus tax at my Dollar Tree and I make a point to walk down that same aisle to grab all of it until I have extra to finish all my projects, Primarily it is still shelf paper and I save money by also lining inside of my cabinets, under the sink, desk, dresser though I didn't like it on the outside of my kitchen cabinets. Thanks again watching you has given me inspiration to cover one wall, around the AC unit in the wall it matches my binds.
