Damn it took a long time to find a quality video showing the steps with a narrative about the process :-) verses some 'influencer' with selfie stick talking about themselves THANK YOU!
the metal frame was probably an old pit that was filled up with concrete, that is why the concrete was proud compare the surrounding concrete floor. Old alignment shops from the 50-70's used pits for aligning cars.

or hoffa??
That angle iron is an edge protection. That was probably a pit and a drive on alignment lift was flush mounted on the floor. No ramps needed. They probably had to fill the pit in after moving

Wow! I'm not in this trade specifically. We do mostly high end tile work in our area and have been the niche company for tile work in our area for some time. I've been really considering getting into concrete polishing as I have so many people asking me about it, and more people are getting into tile work these days so it's not quite what it used to be for me anyways. This video was eye opening as most jobs tend to throw some curve balls at us, you handled this so well! I really appreciate your VoiceOver throughout the process. I can tell you are knowledgable and understand your craft. Thank you for sharing, I needed this! I'm sure the editing took some time. Very thankful for this as I needed to see the not so pretty side of polishing as one of my clients is wanting me to this to his pizzerias; I'm sure it will be more like wha you showed here! lol
Great job thanks for sharing.

Its called a RACATAC, unfortunately they are on national back order so it is very difficult to find one new. We will sell them on our website when they are available again.
Just curious, but wouldn’t it be easier to start with the big grinder in the middle of the metal framed area and work slowly to the edges from high to lower rather than coming in from the outside and going low to high on that edge?
Hi jason, Very informative video. i have a HTC Duratiq 4 head planetary RX6. We were trained by HTC to always do each pass both ways. I have noticed my grinder leaves grinding grooves with all my metal bonds. In your experience what would you think i could change. I've tried my RPM, travelling speeds and even change 3 different diamond suppliers, but it's doing my head in. I'm convinced it's because of the 4 head and not 3 head. I use Ameropolish 3 HD-s densifier but it sometimes stains the floor even after 100 grit. any comments would be greatly appreciated

Before I even start, we can continue this conversation through email if you would like. jason@concretefloorsolutions.com My first question would be what position are the shock absorbers in on the plates? Those are the rubber bushings right behind the plate. Are they in the inner holes, outer holes or middle? I will refer to the three positions as rigid flex, medium flex or very flexible. I normally run mine in the middle position, but I have a three head machine. You might want to move them in one position or even two so the plates allow more flexibility. I am very curious if that helps. These machines are all very touchy and it’s very important to understand what makes your machine do certain things. Please keep in touch, email me or call me directly through the website. My number is plastered all over.
What is the guard product you use at the end? And what is a barnisher? Like a buffer to clean ?
It looks very good, Can you grind down edge That Was left from screening it with a 2 by 4
@ConcreteFloorSolutions
Жыл бұрын
I don't know what edge you are talking about, many times there are patterns left within the concrete that cannot be removed from original concrete placement. The concrete is still smooth and shiny, but there might not be the same stone exposure throughout the concrete. You never know what your floor will look like until you are done.
So this being an old mechanic shop your not worried about oils affecting your work ? The grinding of the floors is enough to get rid of the oils ?? Love your videos
@ConcreteFloorSolutions
2 жыл бұрын
That was known before we ever started the project and every proposal I write has a clause about oil stains. I never make any guarantees if oils are involved. You simply cannot ever remove it 100% from the concrete. Typically there is always going to be staining from oils. Thank you for watching.
Pretty rough shape hardly describes the beginning floor. Great job, really nice work. Hope the restaurant is doing well!
I have a very old garage with severely uneven and cracked floors. The concrete looks like it was set into 4 pieces. The walls actually sit on the ground outside of the garage (yes it's old). I like the durability of epoxy, as ell as the look. Should I fill and level the floor with concrete, score it and then pour epoxy on it, or could I just clean, seal the cracks, and have epoxy level itself? Thanks.
I've used this HTC machine its awesome and makes you a lot of money. Do you use the vacuum on both machines or just single vacuum

Great videos, how would you treat a garage floor that was impregnated with oil ??
@ConcreteFloorSolutions
Жыл бұрын
Very carefully. First, if it is for a customer you need to warn them that no matter how good the preparation, you may have an issue with oil contamination. There is no way to remove oil from Concrete, I would recommend aggressively grinding and or shotblasting if you are putting a coating down. If you are polishing, you will have oil stains and oil may actually come up through the floor from the heat of the grinder as you grind the floor.
That seems like an lot of labor was involved, how much does a job like that cost? And seems like a whole of work to go from plain concrete to shiny concrete. How much more would laying tile have cost?
@ConcreteFloorSolutions
2 жыл бұрын
I believe it was $12k. The point of this floor is to embrace the history of the building and not change the original look. Yes it is a lot of work which is why I post these videos so people know how much work goes into polished concrete.
That dust collector is about the best one in the business.. as I understand it Huaqvarna acquired Blastrac … which is pretty fucked because parts are now near impossible and at a 6 week wait

Will the surface scratch if heavy metal is pulled across the surface, such as a 500 pound jointer?
