Transformers Legacy Evolution has released Optimus Prime and Bumblebee in a special boxed set that includes Optimus Prime’s trailer. Captain Kyle examines this small but mighty core-class set of two of the most well-known Autobots to see if it’s worth it for your collection.
Optimus Prime in this set is a slight recolor of previous core-class versions of the toy but includes both the axe and his gun, plus an extra gun, a plate that can be used as a shield that also allows him to pull his trailer. Plus, of course, the trailer! A great homage to the one that came with the 1984 release of the Autobot Leader, it comes with Roller and the battle deck and allows storage of all of Optimus Prime’s accessories.
Bumblebee in this set is a repaint of the Buzzworthy Bumblebee that came with exo-suit Spike. With a slight change in the yellow color, plus grey instead of black parts, it’s a neat vehicle even if it doesn’t become a Volkswagen Beetle.
