This end cutscene was intense. The absolute chaos or both ships exploding and the bright lights of the vortex, the voices of Optimus and Megatron, and the fan-fucking-tastic piece that they put together for this moment, makes it in my opinion, one of the best endings to a game ever.

It disappoints me that they nailed Megatron's character perfectly (an arrogant, brutal, and power-hungry warrior that will never find peace until he personally destroys Optimus) in these games but could never do so in the movies outside of the first one.

Agreed. Even though it was originally aimed towards children back in the day, the series is DEFINETLY more engaging and intense when it reminds it's audience what the franchise is REALLY about. A gritty, civil war between two factions of transforming robots from another world, who have fought with one another for many millennium.

The voice acting in this game was some of the best ive ever heard. The highlights were Megatron, Jazz, Jetfire, Starscream, Grimlock, Soundwave, Slug and, of course, Optimus Prime!

Well he sees his comrades as brothers and them alone can handle themselves in a fight, bumblebee however is different. Bee is the youngest autobot and Optimus sees him as a son, he got to experience war in a young age and going through multiple suicide missions that no autobot could pull off for the sake of helping his friends especially Optimus

This game is so brutal, but still Epic. Optimus: Maybe you should have spent more time in the library!

@@marshallgoliat7088 Unlikely to work. Transformers, they're more than just machines. If it was as simple as powering them and rebuilding, casualties for the war would be far lower. What makes them different, what makes them more than just lifeless machines, is their spark; the physical manifestation of a transformer's soul, all that they are. And if a body looses too much power or sustains too much damage...the spark winks out, like the last flames of a candle. For a bot as big as Metroplex, a literal city's worth of energon was needed just to sustain him. He gave that up for the Autobot cause, and paid the ultimate price.

Canadian Gamer I think that goes into how stylized it is. Because they went with a solid shape and color 80s aesthetic while subtly combining it with animation and design from the Bay movies it helps keep the graphics timeless and looking great instead of realistic.

I love that no matter who you choose at the end they are unscathed in the final cutscene despite the heavy damage they inflicted on each other.

the final level is really one of the best among all the games i have played.

I would usually pick Optimus as my character in this moment. considering how you start as Megatron in the beginning of the previous game, it feels like a proper closure to choose said option...too bad that the fight felt really short.

Bay's films literally are the only reason this game had the budget it did.

This fight is just awesome, poetic in a certain way, a duel between two equals who couldn’t be more apart from each other, both have eons worth of fighting experience, one was a gladiator, the other a librarian.

Here we are six years later and i'm still waiting for the sequel to this game :P

RIOTER 0000 I agree it doesn’t make all sense, but it does coincide with the events of fall of cybertron because the levels on cybertron were supposed to be in the fall of cybertron game, but for some strange reason they weren’t. Also I don’t understand how the age of extinction story line had any connection to fall of cybertron because while playing the cybertron missions in ROTDS I never once saw anything about the dark spark so to say. Of course it’s been a couple years since I played it so I could be wrong, but yes you’re right it doesn’t make all the sense in the world but it’s still considered the true third installment because it does go back to cybertron.

True effort isnt something one considers when playing transformers video-games.... but this.... does put a smile on my face.

I like how this leads to TF prime even though they look like G1

Other than just being an overall awesome boss, everything has so much weight too it. The punches in the cutscenes really FEEL like they’re getting rocked. The beginning where prime leaps in, that sound sword made, OMG it powerful. These huge metal beings are pounding the scrap out of each other, and the sound design really shows it🤩🤩🤩

@@Billy-zr3wk nope, this is before Transformers Prime, originally it was meant to be a G1 prequel, but with that series lore already estableshed it ended up being a TF prime prequel, part of the Aligned timeline

I wish another company would carry on with the story with a 3rd one.

And that's how Transformers Prime begins.

Even when his tyrannical plans are falling apart right in front of him, Megatron still has to get the last word in.

Bruh that heavily synthesized and slowed down transformation sound it plays after the fade to black... Chills.

THIS IS HOW YOU HANDLE AN ENDING

Imagine how epic it would be to hear this phrase from Optimus in a final confrontation with Megatron in this new line of live action movies. so g1 Loooool

This is my favorite transformers game and story. It’s like if prime didn’t have the human characters. Pure perfection.

This was the best boss fight I've ever had on any video game period. The music, the atmosphere, the desperation, the words

They should make a game like "Rise of Cybertron" where Megatron is defeated and Cybertron is revived. Bringing all lost lives back. Peace and harmony. Somewhat like award winning tfp. Where the game should finally come to a conclusion.

Technically, Tfp is a sequal to The wfc/foc games.

God I absolutely forgot just how good the soundtrack and sound effects in this game were, utter masterpiece.

Optimus said our defeat will be the end of everything

Memories.

"This universe. No matter how vast. Will never be big enough for you and I to coexist"

And thus, Transformers Prime is born...

The only right way to finish this game is as Optimus.

Man I never noticed how savage both of these guys are in this continuity xD I remember a lot of iterations of Prime being like "You know me and megs used to be bros, we could still be that so let's not tear megs to bits just uhhhh DIPLOMACY! Yes. Diplomacy. You can beat up Starscream though, until my moral conscience tells you to stop." Not here... just pull out a giant badass as fuck greatsword and start choppin'. Love it =D

Frederick X. To be fair, Transformers Prime was a cartoon that usually aired early in the morning, so it had to restrain itself to be appropriate for its target audience of kids. If it aired mainly at night and was more for teens and adults, then it could have potentially been more like this. But for what it was, Prime was a good show. And for what this is, this is a GREAT game.

This was a good way to close out the series. A shame we won't get another one, but as a narrative leading into G1, this is near perfect.

@@masturch33f66 No, Shockwave gets roughed up by Grimlock but is very much alive, while Starscream gets imprisoned for backstabbing Megatron yet again (What did anyone expect? 😅) and the player gets to play him escaping and blowing up stuff in a neat stage. As for Bumblebee, we end on a cliffhanger so impossible to really say, but odds are everyone survives and they crash on Earth.

It’s not leading into G1, if you knew anything about G1 you’ll know that dinobots don’t exist yet, and megatron doesn’t have that stupid form where he turns into a gun, this leads into transformers prime

@@chino19963 The dinobots didn't exist yet.. in the cartoon. They were never built on Earth in the comics. And inconsistency and Transformers go hand in hand, even in the same media. But this Grimlock is a clear G1 inspiration, while the More Than Meets the Eye Grimlock is radically different. In general, the look and feel of the game is more G1 than Aligned. I consider this a G1 game, canon be damned.
