i appreciate the poetic justice and irony that accounts for tarn being defeated by soundwave here. Tarn is the "perfect decepticon." He represents the decepticon ideals that we all know and love: peace through tyranny, might makes right, stuff like that. This goes down to even his original counterpart, who was so devoted to the decepticon cause that he wears a mask of the decepticon logo (in this series thats just his face). Meanwhile, soundwave embodies the ideals the decepticons originally strove for: equality among all. in fact, outside of any transformers canon, soundwave's face inspired the decepticon logo. So the final battle was the personification of all the villainy of the decepticons who made his face the logo vs the personification of how the decepticons started who had his face made into the logo.

Sound Wave Superior Tarn most Inferior He used the last of his Overloading Matrix Processing to essentially give the Cybertronian Equivalent of a Final Insult taken to the grave. A Universe where Soundwave's sacrifice brings peace to Cybertron? Something Out of the Conventional but welcomed.

Super fitting for soundwave to be the one to defeat tarn, tarns face is literally the decepticon insignia while soundwave's original toy was the inspiration for the insignia. Soundwave is basically saying that tarn is a cheap imitation of him and that's just great.

My absolute favorite thing about this scene is that Soundwave didn't have to steal the Cortex Helm from Tarn. He very easily could have just done the massive sonic explosion right after ejecting Laserbeak and killed Tarn then and there, but he didn't. Soundwave goes out of his way to do what Tarn never would: give the Supersoldiers free will. The soldiers all dropping their weapons as they realize they're free is one of my favorite moments in the entire series.

Soundwave's death memorial was awesome. "Soundwave was a piece of shit, but he was OUR piece of shit!" Also Optimus being happy for once is really rare and precious.

He was a son of a bitch, but he was the best son of a bitch that all Transformers series ever had…

Bayverse Soundwave died as a true decepticon Cyberverse Soundwave died as a true hero.

To Soundwave. He was true Decepticon till the end, May he be greeted by the Primes and welcomed by Primus Himself to the Great Beyond. May Primus smile upon him forever.

I love how it properly established Hot Rod and Soundwave's abilities to lead and overcome odds. There is a reason these two are the perfect successors to Megatron and Optimus.

I love how Soundwave got personal when Hot Rod got attacked. Soundwave definitely had that Goku and Vegeta bond together.

Who would've guessed that in the end, it would be Soundwave who would save the day, and end the war for good.

He did something like this in the comic except even bigger, he gave his life to the enigma of combination to link the well of sparks to Optimus and stop Unicron; in a move he deemed "Operation: Absolution" This is the same comic where he took over the decepticons and made them peaceful and he helped prime a lit

If you liked this Soundwave read IDW, at the end Soundwave became a 2nd in command for Optimus, his final moments was sacrificing himself to give Optimus a power up to fight Unicron. Right before his spark went he was greeted by every transformer who has died up to that point

Soundwave always was, still is, and always will be: superior.

Soundwave death was the saddest one of everyone in this show. Sad Cyberverse in over, maybe we get other mini movie. Like Starscream returning as a ghost or how about doing something with Unicron? Well if not then this was one of the best Transformers series of all time and gave us many old and new characters to love forever.

Starnge how this is still very kid friendly, yet so much more mature than robots in disguise 2015

This show is underrated. Far from perfect and definitely started slow, but i liked how it handled war, negotiations, and the uncomfortableness that comes in the peace that followed. I especially like how the show ended here with it clearly being an ending….but for the characters in the show a new beginning.

Soundwave was a true friend and a true hero with his full of friendship and protecting all his friends

The last episode really emphasized Soundwave is the real protagonist. It’s not Optimus nor was it Bumblebee. It was Soundwave all along. *SOUNDWAVE SUPERIOR! TARN INFERIOR!*

Soundwave accomplished what most decepticon leadership couldn’t, actual decepticon victory not by conquest but by collaboration, and a happy ending for everyone, even the Tarns, at the cost of his own life, he got to be more then just Megatron’s right hand man partially thanks to him warming up to Roddy and teaming up with him to beat the quints, he lived up to being the face of the decepticons. He and Hot Rod were the real MVPs of Cyberverse.

I loved all of the soundwaves and this one will have a special place in my heart

and what makes it great is that the final straw that gave Soundwave energy to fight back was to save Hod Rod from being killed.

I will admit I did cry for a sound wave as he was my favorite Deceptacon. But the surprising twist is that he died as a hero rather than live as a villain. (edit) I honestly realized something: Soundwave actually cared more for Cybertron than most Decepticons do....otherwise he wouldn't have made one last command to them before his sacrifice.

In the Aligned continuity (Transformers Prime, Rid, etc), Soundwave was one of the founding members of the high council of Cybertron, he was also in the rebellion when the Quintesson attack Cybertron. He left the Council after the Rust plague because he was the only one trying to "revived" Cybertron. When he left, he said to the other "you think that you're better then then, but I do not", speaking of the Minors in South cities. The Minor were basically slaves and if a North civilian wanted an organ or something, they get it from minors, even if he is still alive. So don't tell me that this Soundwave was totally evil, it's a shame that Knockout got a redemption arc and not him... Just.. Why Knockout?

And I will be wishing from all of us saying,, "" soundwave you, 're the perfect deception and the deception that never be forgotten and till all hail soundwave !!

His death was so sad even his own body part, Lazerbeak, cried for his sacrifice. Soundwave stays superior, others inferior.
