@sidgdansk did you actually listen to this message? Rick quotes the words of Jesus from John. Rick repeatedly says that we need to let JESUS transform our mind. He then finishes with 3 very important points 1.THINK ABOUT JESUS. 2. BECOME LIKE JESUS 3.KEEP YOUR MIND ON JESUS AND HIS EXAMPLE. This discredits everything that you are saying. Maybe you should listen to the message again and take. those last 3 points to heart. We are called to edify our brothers and sisters not knock them down. I am also Catholic and in the last two years and four months (exactly today, when my Mum went to be with the Lord) I’ve listened to Rick Warren nearly on a daily basis. In fact I watch Saddleback services every Sunday after attending Mass. Rick is a godsend to me and he has helped me to grief over my Mum’s death in a healthy way🙏🏾 I’m not sure I’ll get an opportunity to meet Rick here on earth, but I hope I’ll spend a few years (may be a thousand 😅) in eternity 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

I am continuing seeking God... listening to sermons while taking notes in my journal, listening to gospel music, praying one one one with God, partaking and listening on the prayerline, reading a biblical scripture each day , and having bible study every sunday. I love listening to his talks, and I agree with all of this, but if you have mental health issues or you’re struggling, you cannot control your thoughts and definitely should seek a healthcare provider as well as God!

Drinking and getting high gets old miserable life being in christ it's a beautiful life submitting to God is wonderful 🙏

Meditating on the Word of God daily (outloud) has done more for me than any other spiritual discipline in my Christian life. In the last eighteen months I have had more change by meditating on the Promises and the Character scriptures. This is rarely taught in the church YET SO IMPORTANT!!! Get started and DO NOT QUIT! A renewed mind will change you forever. BUT you must stick with it. It will take time and effort.

@Chillbro Chill Meditating on the Word Of God consistently (daily) will completely change the way you think. All long term change/transformation comes from getting Gods Word from our head into our heart. (Romans 12:2) This is where meditation comes in. I learned how to do this by listening to a KZread series called “Effortless Change.” By Andrew Wommack. Do a Verse search on the Bible topics I wanted to develop in your life. IE: Gods love, faith, healing, serving, finances etc. Schedule a time each day to Meditate on the scriptures you choose. (out loud.) I usually spend about a half an hour a day. This will require discipline and commitment before you see the benefits. Trust the process. It will definitely change your life if you make it a habit. Many Blessings!

@Chillbro Chill Listening to the audio-bible is a good start. Although there is a big difference between passive listening and speaking the Word of God out of your mouth daily. Meditating on the Word Of God has played a significant role in restoring my health. I have had two brain scans. (Before and after) The Dr. told me he has never seen a brain repair/improve as mine has. He said in twenty years of practice and seeing thousands of brain scans, he has never seen this happen. He told me what happened was humanly impossible. He believes as I do that the Word of God has been responsible for these changes.

@Chillbro Chill If meditating on the Word of God is going to be effective for you. If needs to become a daily discipline/a lifestyle habit. There no magic number as to how many times to meditate on a particular scripture. I have been meditating on some of the same verses usually daily for a number of years. Think of it like a muscle, the more you exercise it, The stronger and bigger it gets. If you listen to the “Effortless Change” KZread series by Andrew Wommack, I think it would be beneficial to you. It’s a six part series. The tile is a little confusing, because it does take effort to get Gods Word in your heart before you see the transformation. Hope that helps.

There is a way out of that destructive kind of thinking. Buy yourself a 15 decade set of Rosary prayer beads and learn how to pray all the prayers and mysteries (Sorrowful, Joyful and Glorious). If you sincerely pray at least 5 decades of it everyday and meditate on those mysteries, your eating problem, self-hatred, depression, feelings of hopeless and despair and suicidal tendencies, or whatever it is you are dealing with, will quickly fade away. The chains that have you bound to these harmful things will just fall off. The Rosary is the most powerful weapon God has given us (outside of the Tridentine Latin Mass) to draw down grace (divine spiritual energy) to ourselves. Divine grace heals, nourishes, renews and invigorates the soul and will keep demons at bay. But you'll need to stop committing any and all clear cut serious sins because sin wounds and kills the soul, which depletes our levels of protective grace and leaves us open and vulnerable to spiritual attack. Check out the Rugged Rosaries website, they sell the best handmade Rosaries and you can customise them too. You should be baptised as well if you haven't been already. Baptism is a ceremonial rite of initiation that washes away all the stains and defects on your soul caused by the build up of sin committed throughout your life. It also washes away the stain of original sin and gives you entrance into the Church, making you a child of God and an heir to the inheritance promised to us by Christ. If you do all of this, I promise you'll find the freedom you're looking for.

9:25 YOU NEED TO ASK GOD TO CHANGE YOUR THOUGHTS. I love hearing pastor ricks services but what he just said here is super INCORRECT. This defeats the purpose of trusting in Jesus. We can’t change On our own. We need to pray to God to change or thoughts and desires and to purify us because we can’t do this without him. Doing what he just said is another form of saying “I don’t need you God, I can do this myself.”

I’m glad I came across this comment because recently my Christian walk has started to feel like psychological games that require my own willpower… if I’m doing it in my own strength then what’s the point in being a Christian?
