TRANSFER VS NO TRANSFER PART 2

This is 2nd part of the series I have been exploring with the need to transfer from the keg after fermentation.
I will add some cards of the previous video I have done on this process. If your interested, try it for yourself and let me know how it goes for you. So far I have been really happy with the outcomes but there is still much to experiment on.

Great experiment! Love the comparison and a lager would really show any issues but obviously none to show! Excellent.

Thanks for doing the comparison ! When I first got my fermzilla, I used it as a uni tank. Fermented and served fully carbonated straight from the fermzilla. It looked and tasted great ! I do transfer to cornys now, so I can get more beers in the keezer.

Thanks for taking the time to make the experiment happen. I would've thought at the very least the clarity would suffer. It's good to know this can work since I ferment in kegs too. Cheers!

I was very surprised that this would work as well. I figured there would be some pretty notable negative effects on the beer. I am going to continue to investigate this process but as of right now I’m gonna continue to ferment in this fashion. Just need a few more floating dip tubes to retrofit all of my kegs. Sláinte

Great video. I couldn't tell any difference between them for color. Maybe carbonation but that's it. I have a freezer full of hops and need to get them used. Cheers!

It’s crazy when you realize how hops you end up having. I swapped to Brewfather and updated my inventory. That’s when i realized I had an issue lol

thanks for this, I think the floating dip tube might be part of the key, seeing yeast come out with the first few glasses of a non-transferred batch might spoil the whole keg so to speak.

Appreciate the feedback. Agree the floating dip is a huge part of this process. Sláinte

Interesting experiment and outcome. Maybe because the yeast is sitting cold, there are no off flavors being released from the dead yeast. Hopefully it will stay that way till you get towards the bottom. Cheerz.

Agreed!! Kinda waiting for the other shoe to drop and have the beer turn on me. Will continue to take data until the kegs kick. Figure if I can get up to 3 month with no issues I am gonna stick with it. I’ve got a keg of NEIPA that I did the same thing with and it’s drinking really good. It wasn’t a side by side though so 🤷‍♂️. Sláinte

Hello I’m curious if the no transferred beer stayed ok untill the end Also I read that you also did a no transfer with a neipa, how did that went ? Didn’t you had any off flavours and could you please explain how you dry hopped it ? Thank you Cheers from France

Thanks so much for watching the video. It’s question - yes the beer stayed the same all the way through the keg to the end. No issues that I could detect in appearance of the beer or flavor of the beer 2nd question- I dry hop in a keg by hooking up my CO2 with 2-3 pounds of pressure and the open the top and drop the hops quickly. I put the top back in place and purge a few times. The thought there is to create positive pressure in the keg to prevent as much O2 egress as possible. I’m sure it’s not completely O2 free but it’s as close as I can get with my equipment. Hope this is helpful and if you try either process please let me know how it goes for you. Sláinte
