Transfer Portal Update #10: Timea Gardiner to UCLA - LSU Pursuing Kelly - UConn's Next Target

Спорт

On the plus side, the Bruins secured a big addition by landing All-Pac-12 forward Timea Gardiner from Oregon State. Gardiner should provide a scoring and rebounding boost to a team that made the Sweet Sixteen in back-to-back seasons.
However, UCLA also saw a departure from the program with reserve forward Christeen Iwuala entering the transfer portal in April.
Overall, UCLA appears to have come out ahead in the transfer portal shuffle, adding a proven Pac-12 star while losing a reserve player.
Will UConn and South Carolina make another move? What about LSU and its pursuit of a star guard in the portal? We discuss this and more in this video

"UConn got better" with one transfer, although Chen is a beast. if that injured UConn team still made the final four, comes back healthy with the addition of Strong, then saying UConn got "better" is an understatement.

“Got bestest” lol. I think Ziebell will be top 5 in 3pt % in the country as well. I could say it’s an understatement for USC too but the larger point was, no team is a super team if there’s a good 6-7 teams that can potentially knock each other out on any given night

@@micdewitt I agree, if 6/7 teams could potentially knock each other out that would be “parity.” However, if SC goes undefeated again on their way to a back-to-back the conversation about there being more “ parity in the women’s college basketball NOW.” Is wishful thinking. Lastly, if Ziebell lives up to her 3pt prowess, UConn could could split time between her and Fudd, thus helping to protect Fudd from further injury, and more flexibility depending on the opposing team’s defensive response. What do you think of Fudd’s defense? In my opinion , I think Fudd is suspect, too many blow-byes.

@@jeromedanielson4422 only having seen her play maybe 4 games in the past 2 seasons, so maybe she developed some with age or even gotten worse since injuries - but I never saw her as a plus defender. Or the #1 player in that class. I think the off-season games being canceled that year skewed the rankings. I felt like Griffin was a bigger injury loss, and losing size in El Alfy. Shade and KK were probably the better options at G to begin with
