Thank you for the video, i know a lot of people get the fluid type confused but it won't make big differences it is the same T case
Gracias!
Agree with comment below, since you have an A/T the transfer case should also be filled with ATF. Check your manual.

D V yes I agree 100% person, I had a link in the descriptions to a forum where all agreed on that , I reviewed my manual and that what I found
So you use Same gear fluid in transfer case and diff? I’d like to know please

Actually if you have an automatic transmission you use ATF but if you have manual transmission just regular gear oil will work according to the manual. The reason why to my opinion is that prevents mixing problems if the transmission decided to leak into the transfer case

Wrong topic lol
Did I see that correctly , you gear oil in the transfer case. Did you notice what come out it looks like a transmission fluid

Жыл бұрын
Yes that’s because it’s my first automatic vehicle, it is the same thing but not recommended when you have an auto transmission to prevent mixing different fluid in case of seal leaks. The same t case take gear oil too
Check your owners manual 99% sure that with the auto trans the t case takes transmission fluid, that’s why it was red when it came out the first time

We’re you able to flush yours out and put ATF back in?
@WheelersHoarder

Donald Baughman no actually I drained the 75w90 , and filled it with ATF , nothing wrong will happen the ATF will wash that thicker oil and I drained it again , I did not want to get the oil cooler line touched , they where rusty, so did not flush it ,

Yeah I know that story right now I’m trying to replace the gas tank and I snapped every single bolt on the tank and skid because of rust

Yeah old cars sucks but they teach you to be creative, try heating around the bolts until metal turns red it may work , that rust weld the thread together .
How much do you use ?

I remember using 1 quart and a little more than half , 2 quarts should do it
Mine looks totally different on my 94 4runner

Is it still an automatic ? If it is so and is different does your VIN starts with J or 1 ? Mine is made in Japan it did started with J
NOTE : should mentioned drive shafts instead of axles
Don't put gear oil into your automatic transmission. The red fluid should be telling you something. Look it up.

I did not put it in the transmission, it was in the transfer case . But the same exact transfer case takes atf when there is auto transmission and takes gear oil when there is manual transmission. I think the reason is in case the seals between leaks it won’t mix

I think I said transmission because I'm my bookl it calls for atf for both, for the reasons you said. I just didn't want anyone to get confused and use the wrong fluids.
