Watch this entire series! it is outstanding. It deserves a KZread academy award! Thanks for posting. Corey must have been part of the Chrysler design team. He is a real pro and I'm sure a major asset to your business.

Great stuff I've rebuilt engines, turbo's and diff's before but normally opt for a good second hand for transmissions. it's nice to see the correct way of approaching the job.

    Excellent info on transmission rebuild...thanks!

It's good practice to measure the input shaft end play before removing the front pump. When the transmission rebuild is complete you want to recheck the end play before installing the torque convertor.

Hi Corey and partner. Thank you for the videos you guys are making. They are very informative and saves a lot of money for me. BTW, what sealant would you recommend fro the transmission pan? Thanks and hope to hear from you.

The extra pump threads are so you can use the larger threads to screw the extension housing bolts to push out the pump

Have a question i have a 05 liberty with a 42rle it shifts and runs fine when cold. Freeway runs fine but once in stop and go traffic when it gets hot it whines and slips in all gears. lets it sit for 5 minutes works fine. could the filter be clogged? Any suggestions thank you.

Where is the torque converter clutch solenoid usually located with these transmissions?

Didn't know some transmission had separating notches. Thanks for the great info Corey. I'll assume non-hardening sealant means RTV?

No, never RTV in a transmission. Use Permatex #2 or equivalent, which is what is meant by a non-hardening sealer.

    capriracer351 Never heard of #2 before. Thanks capiriracer351. :)

***** Although even though I still believe no RTV should be used in an automatic transmission, as I watched further, it certainly looked as though that was what was sealing the pan and the tailhousing. I am not certain if maybe the oem has a polyurethane sealer that they use instead? The thing about Permatex #2 is that you don't have chunks of it breaking off and getting lodged in the passages like can happen with RTV silicone. My transmission rebuilding experience is limited to ancient Ford C4's, C6's and FMX's along with the horrible A4LD's, AODS, and the ocassional Powerglide. Times may have changed, (And I seem to be getting farther and farther behind by the year )> .

I’ve damaged the threads on the output shaft. Can you tell me the size and thread pitch for the output shaft. Maybe 36mm by 1.5 metric pitch
