Melting Mountains (SOLVED)! I found a Setting in the Trainz Performance Tab, that stops the Melting Mountain Issues as you Pass by them. Set Shader Quality from Ultra to Standard Settings, and this stops that Melting effect with the PBR Textures and the Textures look much better in quality. This is a Huge accidental find and it makes a World of difference, no pun intended, Lol.

Thanks for your feedback, I have been wanting to do more videos for some time and have a couple in the works, only held up by covid -19 death in the family and waiting for a decent Internet when I moved to a country location. Internet is now OK. I also have progressed my route nearly ready for Beta tests.

Those problems are something that has efflicted every installment of this game not just 2019. Levitating track can be fixed by adjusting the roadbed with the spline height tool after the route had been made. Must remember to go over it about 5 times though as fixing some areas levitates others. The liquid scenery is well just part of the scenery of the game. Many of the OEM routes in all installments had them. When creating mods or my own routes, I found a catastrophic CTD would follow with some combinations and of course if you forgot to save the last half hours work (sometimes much much more) then you'd lose everything you'd just done. I also found trying to solve issues via workarounds consumed so much time I was embarrassed at the time I was spending. Often enough if I was having difficulties with liquid textures, levitating track and snaking tunnels the very act of Save would cause the computer to freeze. Very very glitchy series of games these. Again, those snaking tunnels would drive me insane. I see when OEM routes in the game have S bends in them I know what the designer was going through.

Is there a time stamp where I can figure out how to fix the visual effects? The bug I get is when I look at a cliff from a certain angle, it makes the texture glitch.

Sadly this is a graphics engine issue with PBR textures, I just replace them with non PBR textures where this happens. Many have tried to fix this with no success. Example: Have a cutting near the track, it will have this issue where a sharp bit exists, nothing but to overlay a small non PBR texture there.

No it does not seem to, I did several comparisons and so no differences in the PBR Textures. I did see the Melting Ground issues did stop altogether. From what I can see, is the 3D Depth effects are not there with the Standard Shader Setting, but still looks fairly good. It is worth the Trade off to not have the Roads and Track get buried and have that weird Melting effect.

Nice video on a mysterious subject Would it be possible to add labels to the video that are easier to read than the "picker" or selector list? Especially nice for textures where the texture name doesn't get displayed. With a fast paced video such as this one, I have a bit of trouble keeping up with all the names as you rattle them off. Also, at the end where you're showing the different types of track, can you show the track a little to the side so the means of fastening rails to ties can be clearly seen so we can identify tie plates and spikes, chairs, clips, etc.? Thanks!

I am still undecided about the PBR textures. I have had some limited success with them, but they are murder on road/street splines. Also, as toy pointed out in the video, mixing traditional and PBR textures is not always a good idea. I think the PBR textures are really good looking. Just wish they weren't so fussy to work with. PS: Just in case you didn't hear, I did get the new RailDriver to work. Turns out that the first unit was in fact defective.

@@colinstrains5885 Yes, I have been able to get the RD fully functional, and more. I downloaded the MacroWroks from PI Engineering, which has vastly expanded the functionality of the unit. As of now, the RailDriver gets the full NJP Stamp of Approval. The instructions? Not so much. They really need to rewrite those. No worries about the streams. I completely understand about the time differences. But at least YT makes them available for watching later. BTW, I like the green screen effect at the end of your videos. I have tried that a few times in the past, but the results were less than spectacular, LOL.

Yes, this is a Issue that I have to, Thank You for your Videos, these issues need to be solved for a Great Trainz Experience. Also I would like to see the Draw Distance be more than 1500 as it is poor looking at Medium distant Mountains with no Textures at all until you get very close to them. Higher end PCs can run the Higher Draw Distance such as 2500 or more, very smoothly. Of Course in addition to the Higher allowed Draw Distance the Options to turn it down would still be there. Thank Again and Kind Regards. jjeff1955

Thanks Jon, Yes this was an issue when I made the video some 5 months ago . . . and still is . .. . . . sadly if you have an older PC then TRS2019 has lots of limitations you need to apply to get evan passable performance . . .but it is not an easy task to rectify as software companies cannot build and/or maintain two versions . . one for those with older machines . . the reality is that it is a rapidly diminishing market . . older machines that is . . . .. so justifying a second version does not make economic sense for those money making organisations . .I wish there was an answer . .but I think it unlikely. You just have to accept that newer technology/features will not be available to those with older PC systems, as unfortunate as it is !

My Bad, Yes it is 15000, I think that the older versions where 1500 up to 5000 but Poor performance on older PCs. Yes I did send a message to the Help Desk about the 3d Textures issues, and also need more DraW Distance to at least 20000 or more, now that we have Better PCs than years ago. I am not a Trainz Gold Member so I can not get the latest Update for my Trainz 2019. Colin you can find me on the Steam Server under the name jjeff1955 and we can be Friends there and chat more. My Trainz 2019 is installed on the Steam Game Server.
