I have no idea which version of the 765 to get I have TS12 and haven't ever updated it

Follow these instructions EXACTLY. Go to your desktop, and start up Trainz 12. When that first menu comes up that allows you to either start the game or choose content manager, DON'T click anything, in the LOWER RIGHT corner of the menu should be the word "Build" followed by a number. This is the Trainz "Build Number" which tells you which version of Trainz 12 you have and which updates are or are not installed. If your build number is LOWER than 57720, then you DON'T have the Service Pack 1 installed, (which is what "SP1" means). If this is the case, then you will need to get the "Pre SP1" version of the NKP 765. If your build number is EXACTLY 57720 or HIGHER, then you have the Service Pack thus you will need to get the "SP1" version of the 765.
