Trains at Peterborough - 17/01/2023
Filmed on 17/01/2023. Alright, so let us get 2023 of and along the track for as we enter our ninth year on KZread for another year of trainspotting and railway adventures. For 2023, we enter a brand new era as we have a brand new captions format for this year and an end screen. So, we kick off the year with the first of three stations along the East Coast Mainline south. Starting with a few hours trainspotting at Peterborough (Season 10 Episode 1)
A day and a half this has been with plenty of passenger, unusual movements and even intermodal traffic to and from Felixstowe. For this session had a few twists. For example: Broken down train between Peterborough and London Kings Cross and on the Leeds to Doncaster line which is causing issues for some train services. But, we do see some of LNER daily services which were running late passing through.
The LNER 225 sets has a brand new nostalgia British Railways InterCity Swallow livery and branding. Seen working on London Kings Cross to Leeds diagrams with one which worked between Skipton and London Kings Cross.

Yep, all from the frozen pantographs. That morning when I boarded the LNER Azuma to Peterborough, there was a big lightning show from the pantographs for sure :-)
I will admit that I have a very soft spot for Peterborough, always got the time to veg there, remember last year going there and filming for hours and it was a great time with a lot of great stuff coming in

I fully understand for your soft spot for Peterborough Ian. I am honestly baffled by the amount of veg, bashing and all sorts through Peterborough. Its a station that can spend a full day there and never running out of variety :-)
Nice video Ricky

Hull Trains Paragon which should have sped through but due to a broken down train, it had to stop at Peterborough and await for signal clearance.
🙀 that was rare was that in the timetable change a Turbo from Bristol to Stansted airport

I can remember around 6 1/2 years ago, there was a Cross Country service from Gloucester to Stansted Airport but now since its starts at Bristol, its an extended route :-)
I use this station to get to Huntingdon to see my sister

Yep, all LNER services between Leeds and Doncaster & Peterborough to London Kings Cross are heavily delayed. Due to a train fault and a broken down train. It did provide some unusual movements to say the least.
Nice video Ricky
