Re: not having a clicker - I stopped using a physical clicker because it was too many things to handle at once, but I can make the same noise with my mouth, so I do that instead now. Thank you for this video! I'm going to start working on this soon.

This is sssooo fitting for me right now. I have one cat that currently takes more pills than me! Thank goodness, he's good at taking them with the help of wet food. It would be a very different story with my other cat though. Clicker training is definitely in our future!

i'm so glad to see this more recent video! i love all your videos and had not seen any recent ones.... yaaaay! No wonder cats love you; you are so patient to take the time to make them feel safe, and you respect their wishes without traumatizing them! i wonder if i can use your methods on my 17 yr old cat with his meds. he HATEs opening his mouth for anything except eating and yawning!

Thanks for this! It's been painful to "force" my cat to take meds for post-pancreatitis issues. She hasn't shown signs of hating me yet, but I feel like it's going to happen at any moment now 😩 hopefully this helps!

I get all that, but some cats are NOT food motivated! Now what? My cat, if he is not in the mood, will not eat anything, even tuna, salmon, or his favorite treats! I am beside myself trying to get him to react to food like other cats, but he likes being petted so much that he gets angry when I do not say good night to him, and in the morning before I am fully awake he MUST have his head rub/butt… he is sweet as sugar and does not misbehave (a lot)…

Thank you, that was very helpful and inspiring. What is the treat you have in the syringe? The pills I got from the vet are "chewables" (??) Enrofloaxin 22.7 mg tablets .. will this work the same way? My cat doesn't really go for treats, or perhaps I just haven't found the right kind yet.

If only my cat was food motivated. She basically won’t eat anything and keeping weight on her is a challenge. All the medication tricks I’m seeing involve food or treats. I hate the idea of having to shove pills down her throat for the rest of her life, but I guess that’s the only way for her.
