Training Ride with Safa - Gravel Rip Through the Alabama Hills

It doesn't get much better than this. I'm on the only 2022 SCOTT Addict Gravel in the country, riding through an incredible landscape on gravel roads that seem purpose built for speed and fun, and it's night time!

    As much as I enjoy the descending videos, it’s these SAFA “grinder” videos that get me really motivated/excited to get out and improve my game. This is one of the best-wow!!

    It's Alabama hills! It's a popular filming location. Iron Man was filmed there. If you're in California, a dreamy road trip is on hwy 395

    Great video. If I wasn't already interested in cycling, this video could have sparked that interest. One thing I have learned, nearly anywhere in the world is beautiful during the first or last hour of daylight. A dramatic location such as this becomes breathtakingly beautiful.

    Damn you’ve made me want to drive down to Southern California to hit up that trail! You’ve sold me on a gravel bike. Definitely recommend that trail during the colder season, the snow cap mountains against the dessert landscape is gorgeous.

    I'm thinking the entire grade of the road is at least slightly downhill. Averaging over 50k with 42c tires at 20psi on gravel would not be possible on flat/uphill

    The lighting on this video is so sick, great change of pace from the super sunny california vibe. Also, not sure if its intentional or not but the simplified overlay looks great too.

    Thanks Ben. Wasn't planning on filming this late initially but once we were out there the day before at a similar time I changed plans, such a nice couple hours of light afterthe sun goes down. And kept the overlays simple to not overpower the scenery.

    Seeing this kind of road is the best explaination of the fact that the gravel bike was invented in America. I'm actually surprised of the fact that in the grand scheme of cycling history the gravel has taken so long to take off.
