Dog Daddy, I always see trainers here complaining you are abusive and mean to the dogs, and I'm sure that they must not watch your videos to the end because abuse would be punishing them even with good behavior. Once these dogs can relax, you barely have to make any corrections. And some people complain about the tail not wagging being an indicator of not being relaxed, and it's so telling that this is not the only indicator of a dog being happy when I watch the video. I get it why they are jealous of your results and feel the need to criticize you on your methods; they probably can't get the same effective results as you can! Your talent is harmful to their business.

So many humans are reluctant, almost scared to boss their dogs around! But with some dogs, this is needed in the beginning. As time goes on, the more the dog recognizes the owner's authority, a softer correction will work just as well.

Lots of experts on dog training in the comment section. I can bet $100 that none of these people have ever owned a german shepherd. They're not your typical golden retriever, labrador etc. these breeds are intelligent for a reason.

I have a huge Shepherd Husky something mix and people can't believe that I can control him. My dog can read my mind, no doubt!
