    Notice how she keeps her left leg slightly forward as she draws the broom into her with her right hand... and keeps her chin down... smooth and clam... very good technique

    I wish bon was a bit more reactive to the shots up top. I know thai fighters aren't afraid to get hit with punches but using a little more head movement or reactive blocking couldn't hurt.

  • @app369

    @app369

    11 ай бұрын

    It's just so hard in MT. You start to implement boxing head movement and you are asking to be set up for head kicks, knees and elbows. Punches are the weakest shot in MT so you sort of have to pick your poison.

    Thai boxers train better than their foreign counterparts, they just do. Also, they fight very frequently. It's not crazy to see a 20 something year old fighter with +/- 100 fights under their belt. That's tough to deal with.

    He trains Thais so different from how he trains non Thais. Anyone that can't see it is blind. Technical training with Thais. No ego or bs. He tries to break non Thais in disrespectful ways. No idea why non Thais keep training with him.

  • @casualenjoyer5420

    @casualenjoyer5420

    2 жыл бұрын

    I think Samart Payakaroon said the nonThai fighters didn't need the technical training, but the big difference was that Thai fighters can endure the punishment 10x better than nonThais. Gae is just working on what actually needs work ; toughening up the nonThais, and working on ring control with his Thai players

  • @jonbravo9278

    @jonbravo9278

    @@casualenjoyer5420 I don't agree with that. I wish it was that simple. It's definitely in part, a Thai cultural thing. And big ego by Gae. I've been on soi 30/1 for over 2 years, in Thailand over 10 years. I've seen him train a huge amount of different fighters both Thai and non Thai. The one Constant is the treatment. Thai culture doesn't allow for trainers to beat down their fighters especially if a fighter has had 20 to 50 fights. In Western culture ppl have seen too many movies of what they think Thai training should be like what you equate it too. It's not the case. I Appreciate the reply without trash talking. It's actually a pretty well known fact in most gyms here in Thailand. But Gae takes it to an extreme and that's where I can't abide by the bs he does to guys. One example is trainers sweeping tired fighters during training...it is normal but it stops after 6 months to 1 year or so if the trainer isn't a complete dick head. Holding pads and calling for a back leg and cutting the support leg after 9 rounds of pad work doesn't teach anyone anything except that the trainer is an idiot. I've seen injuries happen that way. More than once.

  • @casualenjoyer5420

    @casualenjoyer5420

    @@jonbravo9278 I grew up in SEA and spent most of my summers in Thailand with my cousins, training at the local gym because we had no video games and no money either hahaha - for the first 9ish years, I got beat up and swept by my trainers. Around the time I turned 15 and started maturing into a man, I stopped giving a fuck about getting swept or kneed because frankly I had gotten so used to it. Once my trainer saw me bouncing back up like it was nothing, he stopped and barely did it again (except to surprise). I just think it's about the toughness and heart. These Thai kids come from nothing and fight so many times when they're young. Us Nonthais need to catch up if we want to compete with the elites.

  • @jonbravo9278

    @jonbravo9278

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@casualenjoyer5420 as a kid being swept is needed. I'm referring to fighters in their 20s and 30s getting less technical sessions while getting ready for a fight. These guys are fighters not part time weekend warriors that enjoy muay Thai. That's the difference I'm talking about. I've been at big and small gyms all over and Gae is the only trainer I've seen do repeatedly disrespectful stuff to grown men that are training for fights.. only non Thais. Other gyms with non Thais aren't treated their fighters or visiting fighters this way. Gae is a special kind of dick head. It's overboard. Why no other trainers go to the level of humiliation that be does? It's not good for fighters. I'm a western boxing coach. Been training ppl from 8 years old to 60 years old. Trust me Gae has a terrible style and that's why he only gets foreigners or a few sessions here and there with big name Thais. If he was worth training with he would have a gym for himself and ppl would come to train with him. He doesn't. He moves from gym to gym because of his ego and Thais won't put up with it. Only gyms that are foreign owned will allow him to be head trainer. I live in Bangkok now and it's not just my opinion saying this.
