That's an AC44CW, nod an SD70. You can tell by the shape of the cab windows (GEs are rectangular; EMDs usually taper towards the centre) and the radiator pod at the back (GE's are "roof-shaped" on top; EMD are flat on top but have a V-shaped profile underneath). BKTY is a reporting mark that UP uses for box cars that it leases from one of the big leasing companies. They tend to be older cars but, recently, they got some brand new cars that look like TBOXes except they have yellow doors and UP logos on them.

The DPU isn't an SD70, it's some sort of GE, probably an AC44CW or a GEVO or a variant of those at the least

  • @MrEferrell

Where UP runs through Central Oklahoma there will be 3 or 4 engines leading, 2 in the middle and 2 on the end. Mind you, from Kansas to Texas is fairly level ground.

@@eastterminalrailway5975 OK, now I see. I never see it from where you were, we come in from the other side next to that building with the ties stacked in front of it when we need to work on a locomotive, and it’s usually after dark. It seems like that’s called the North Yard, but I’m not sure. It’s south of the Peach Street Yard. The track closest to that brick building is what we call the gauntlet track. The train was going south and pulling into Ney Yard, it’s an old Katy yard. I work in the old T&P shops about 3 miles west of where you were.

What a bust this channel is. More focused on KZread views than what you initially set out to do on this channel. ETR is officially a hotdog. Some pork. A lot of filler.
