if you listen closely, the G and F# chords are actually just the 4th intervals on the A and D strings not the three note G5/F# power chords (D & G, C# & F#).. sounds quite a bit tighter

I believe that riff in the intro transitioning from E to A has a little more going on. He's definitely hitting E on the D string 2nd fret on that run

also the turnaround riff, i don't think there's a G# note in there.. it should be low E, then hammer on G (on low E), then open A, hammer on B, then C#, pull off to B, pull off to open A, back to low G, pull off to E, then hit the A chord (mixolydian scale)..
