To answer your question about "slap a fool" popularity in Korea: Gong Yoo is pretty big in Korea. He's kind of like Tom Cruise in terms of how famous he is but definitely does different types of shows/movies. He is also known to be the type of celebrity who is everyone's crush as he is very handsome while also being a kind person.

Fun fact, there are three very big Korean actors in this movie. The little Girls father is actor Gong Yoo who also played the salesman that recruits the players in Squid Game. The husband of the pregnant lady is actor Don Lee who plays Gilgamesh in Marvels Eternals and the student of the baseball team is actor Choi Woo Shik who plays the main character in Parasite.

I just wanted to share some info. The two old women were sisters. Hence why it hit harder for her when she died. In Asian culture, your status plays a huge factor in how you're treated in society. Which is why everyone listened to the old rich guy because of his status. He looked like a successful businessman. And why they were so quick to try to get the homeless guy off but didnt even see ol zombie broad run up on the train. Swole Man naming his daughter at that moment, if Im not mistaken its culture for the dad to name the child. Which is why the wife called the baby "sleepy" in place. Because he knew he was gna die, he shouted the name right then and there. All of what I wrote above is a general statement and based of my understanding of things. So please feel free to correct me if you see inaccuracies or I didnt explain it well (Im not the best with words lol) Now, this is some background on the song because it holds such a special place in my heart. The song she was singing was written by Queen Lili'uokalani who was the last moncarch of the Hawai'i Kingdom before the US forcefully stole the land from them. Aloha O'e was originally written as a love song but it can be translated to "love to you" When The Queen realized her Kingdom was being being overthrown Aloha O'e became a farewell song to the home she knew. A bittersweet goodbye. Everything the director did in this movie was intentional. Aloha 🤙🏾🤙🏾

I’d like to point something out - Gong Yoo talks to the daughter in informal Korean, whereas the daughter speaks very formally to her dad. Normally kids talk to their parents more casually and talk to their elders (like grandparents or older generations in general or strangers) formally. Usually if kids talk to their parents formally (especially at a young age), it can mean that they aren’t close and most likely have a dysfunctional or cold family dynamic. The fact that this happening both caused them to grow closer and ultimately part ways forever is so heartbreaking. :(

Yeah the “last boss” fighting scene the pregnant lady was in danger and remember they do not have weapons. It was a dire situation and just put his hands in the zombie’s mouth. It may have seemed dumb to you guys, but he didn’t have a lot of time to think. He had to protect and take care of the pregnant lady, it was his promise to the Big dude. Yeah should the pregnant lady put her purse in the zombie’s mouth? PROBABLY, but again you have to imagine how exhausted and stressed all of them were at this point while watching so many people die in the process. The thing is, for the father he literally snapped back to reality. If he continued being focused on work and making money aka being a selfish jerk. He most likely would end up like that older business man aka that selfish villain. As the Big Dude told him, he works super hard because he wanted to financially support his family aka ex-wife and kid. But work became bigger priority and that’s when his relationship with his ex-wife and kid fell apart. So his character development was needed so he can see what he was turning into and he decided that’s not the kind of person and life he wanted. Of course that is thanks to the people he met on this train that had such great perspective and honest to god good people.

“She must have done something if he has custody” In Korea and Asian, it’s shockingly coming for a divorce to end in the dad just taking the kids custody, no matter who is at fault. Men usually earn more money and just flex more power no matter what. Shared custody is not as common, and women are shunned for being divorced, single moms. Women are often deprived of their children and move out of the home, if there’s a split up, since the children have the father’s name and legacy and are more like their dad’s ‘property’… ANYWAYS, there are examples of shared custody situations and equitable divorces over in Asia, but overall the cultural expectations are way different than in the US.

The reason why the dad covered the douchebag zombie's mouth was to protect the pregnant wife and his daughter. Notice that before the zombie started trying to attack the pregnant wife and his daughter, the dad would push the zombie's face away by pressing his arm against the zombie's neck. The dad knew what he was doing. He didn't want to risk having them bitten. His character arc is brought to a full circle. It wasn't something he'd ever have done at the beginning of the movie, but by the end, he kept his promise to Swole Man and was willing to sacrifice his life for others.

The mom might not have done anything wrong, there is a huge chance that he probably has sole custody cuz he makes more money. If both are pretty good parents ig usually they go with the parent that can provide the best for the kid, so I’m guessing the mother is not rlly rich or something.

In Korea, kids are considered a main line of their paternal heritage, and a branching off on the maternal side. So when a divorce occurs, typically, the child "belongs" to the father's side - this is also to care for the child, as the father is traditionally the one with the financial means to support the child, and this enables the mother to remarry and have another family with her new husband. Things have changed and this is not always the case any more - it's more evenly distributed - but still, it's customary for the child to go with the father. And yeah, it doesn't mean the mother did anything wrong - in this case, she was probably just a lower income parent. She clearly spent more time with her child, teaching her kindness and generosity, which means she was probably either a stay-at-home spouse and mother, or had a career that gave her more free time to do so, while he contributed the bulk of their finances.

These zombies are absolutely much more dangerous than the ones found in TWD though. Near-Instant turning, hoarding together and being so quick. Running is a better strategy. Also, the dad shoved his hand in front of the zombie's mouth to keep it from lunging & biting the wife or his daughter. It was also a way to drag it away.

I think in Korean, divorce is not as common as like America. I speculate that if a divorce process were to happen, the child would go to the parent who is more financially stable. Korea is traditional, Dad goes to work, Mom is stay at home. So if she left him and didn't make the same money he'd make. Then the daughter goes to him.

TRAIN TO BUSAN CLARIFICATIONS 11:44 - The woman who got bit just entered the train got bit on the LEG since it's the bottom of her body, the infection quickly spreads through her leg slowly and begins triggering her nervous system, that's why she keeps on shaking and start to feel contortation because as the signal sends to her brain, the brain function stops moving slowly. When her brain completely stops functioning, she turns into a zombie. Still as I said, when she is contorting, I think that's when the brain slowly starts to stop functioning. The infection is TRAVELING slowly, going upwards. She still had time before she turns into a zombie. While the attendant that's a bit different because as the zombie woman turns and starts to spread the infection across the train. The attendant's NECK gets bitten. This shows that it's a LOT FASTER infecting her than the woman on her LEG. It travels WAY FASTER than you have ever imagine. It quickly travels to her nervous system, and the brain stops functioning really fast, and by that she also turns into a zombie. The point of this is to look where the survivors are being BITTEN into because that depends how much time they have before they fully turn into a zombie. Then, the infection really starts to happen when more survivors in car 11 gets infected and more zombies start to go in the left direction as seen there. BUT, the baseball team goes to the right so that gives some rest time to the BASEBALL team and the rest of the survivors on the RIGHT side of the train. 12:04 - Look I don't want to say this but the attendants and passengers on the train didn't know there was an infection occured on the train. They thought that it was just a fight or a small riot happening going on the train. That's why the male attendant told the conductor that VIOLENCE was breaking out, not the FREAKING INFECTION. Passengers thought the same thing, when they realize BLOOD. Riots can cause injuries but not like NECK BITES, LEG BITES, etc. The male attendant thought that it was a small riot happening, he was just too busy paying attention to Zombies in car 11, tearing the survivors flesh and turning them and slowly spreading the infection. Closing the door would have been the better option, but he was too distracted by this chaos happening in car 11. Some passengers are already running away from these zombies in car 11 going towards the left direction and passengers still don't know what is going on and trying to watch the VIEW of blood ( ketchup mess hehe ) and shouting and screaming of people getting attacked by zombies. The male attendant gets bitten on the neck and he also turns into a zombie really fast LIKE THE WOMAN ATTENDANT EARLIER. But don't worry it's just ketchup mess hehe >: The gray suit dude was moving his up and down and he got bit earlier, I think that's the guy that was slow now and all the way in the back and turning into a zombie. Right now, all of car 11 - 13 passengers probably already got attacked and turned into zombies. Like a tidal wave, the infection was FAST moving towards the left side of the train / left direction. Most people didn't have time to react and they got attacked. :( Could have stop looking and run for your lives, gosh. About most people already and starting to notice the spread on the train and moving towards the back of the train. Finally, they used their brains and got smart. They used luggages to block the door hehe good idea. They stopped at Daejeon Station and could have already spot the weirdness of the station, nobody came to pick them up, lots of blood stains, many sussy military soldiers are being killed and turned into zombies. Sussy Daejeon Station. Now Daejeon Station has been fully occupied with zombies and start hunting for passengers on the train. More ketchup mess again. Man, they would have all made it. There were plenty of EVIDENCE on the floor and they ignored it. Ma Dong Seok saw blood on the police shield, and could be thinking that zombies already took over Daejeon Station. Soon enough, zombies spotted them and killed most of the survivors. Big Chaos. 19:48 - You know, at least look through doors and windows and glass. Come on. 25:54 - You talk way too much, shut up bum. It's your fault. Stop blaming other people. They are not infected. You are just too scared. Calm down, take a chill pill or get a speaker gosh. Now, they are going to get a huge surprise soon. The rest of the survivors that made it are in car 15. The protagonist, baseball boy, and the big guy Ma Dong Seok are at Car 9. 33:39 - More Ketchup mess are coming in, killing these inbeciles. They are bring selfish. The last group of survivors getting ravaged by zombies. 43:48 - Now after killing the selfish guy, the protagonist gets bit trying to save the pregnant lady and his daughter. He then turns into a zombie and flashbacks of Su-an as a little baby. Hearbreaking scene right there. 45:44 - The ladies finally reached Busan and it was safe. The military confirmed that they are survivors and the song actually was the PIECE OF EVIDENCE that they are survivors. Zombies can't see. Out of like more than 400 people on the train, 2 people made it to Busan. They have left Seoul to Busan. Bruh good movie to watch. These are all of my Clarifications. Thanks. You guys should watch Dark Hole, A Korean Television series that barely anybody knows. It talks about a sinkhole that has black smoke, then spreads over the city of Muji and the people that takes a deep breath of that mysterious black smoke, will turn into a Mutant. ( Mutants are zombies, but they attack humans instead of biting them. ) This is my recommendation.
