I do offer a rebuttal as to why the Black 5 is actually a good choice for this route. If you look at shed records around the time the route is modeled (1963 when Kingmoor marshalling yard was officially opened and June 1955 when the line between Dumfries and Dunragit was closed) the overwhelming majority of locomotives at Carlisle Kingmoor MPD and Dumfries shed were Black 5s. While there were Standard 4 moguls at this point, they were only at Stranraer and they were few in number. Most accounts I've read about this time period talk about how the Black 5s and Clans dominated most of the traffic over the Port Road while Standard moguls were typically used as pilots while Standard 4 tanks were used on passenger runs to Kirkudbright from Dumfries.

I really like this route, its got something for everyone. IMO, the best way to enjoy it is by taking a train all the way from Carlisle to Stranraer (Proudest achievement was getting a Bossman Games LMS Caprotti Black Five to Stranraer with a train of BR and LNER coaching without messing up), just be sure to take a water stop at Loch Skerrow.

For me, my favorite route in Train Sim would be a toss up between this, Weardale and Teasdale, and Clear Creek Narrow Guage. Just wish they could have included a couple of other engines, although I have a good chunk of the engines available. Wouldn't have hurt them too much to include a small shunter like a Jinty for this one.

The interesting thing is this is basically just an updated version of a free route which was literally just called "The Port Road." this free version isnt available anymore but my friend does have it

1:27 So after buying the route myself I found out that the bridges and other objects are actually not missing, if you go to edit the route and you hover your mouse over the location where the missing bridge is, the bridge will appear, what I recommend doing is to double click it and go to the the 5th bar and if it has "1" then change it to "10" and then the bridge will be fixed.

I have a tip for driving the black 5s that come with the route, put the regulator on 77% and put the reverser on 22% which would make the locomotive accelerate faster. Although at a certain point you will accelerate slower you would be at 70mph by then

LNER locomotives are classified by wheel arrangement, K indicating 2-6-0. K4s were neither 4-6-0s nor Pacifics. Though, the Pennsylvania Railroad did have it's own K4 Pacifics.

Same story of the 8fs and jubilees if they pull more than two coaches (i know due to the "spirit of steam" route wich goes crewe via acton bridge ,runcorn, ditton junction to liverpool and vice versa)

Very much like the previous review topic, Riviera in the 50's, Western Lines of Scotland may be lacking in certain content, particularly rolling stock, pretty much all of which is just reskinned and lightly updated versions of models dating back to the first ever releases of Rail Simulator. But also like Riviera, it is practically an essential part if you want pretty much anything to do with the TS Third Party content community, especially in the UK. Untold scores of scenarios on Steam Workshop, dozens of routes both on Workshop and beyond, even Third Party locomotives like those of Caledonia Works and Digital Traction count WLoS as a requirement. P.S. From what I've heard, the proper Scottish pronunciation for Kirkcudbright is actually "Ker-Coo-Bree"

Was there any other sheds as well as Carlisle on this route, and was there any Jubilees operating on it?

Theres quite a few (Taken from an Ian Allan ABC circa 1950) 12A: Carlisle (Upperby) 12B: Carlisle (Canal) 68A: Carlisle (Kingmoor) 68B: Dumfries. 68C: Stranraer.

Upperby was the ex-LNWR shed, it mostly saw smaller locomotives like the 2MT tanks, BR 5MTs, BR 4MTs, but also it's own allocation of Jubilees and Black Staniers. Canal was the ex-North British shed, and to the end of it's days the LNER was the major influence on it's allocation. Kingmoor was home to the big locos; Jubilees certainly among them, although perhaps their allocation of Pacifics was more notable.

Little use taking care of something intended to be thrown away anyway. People tend to forget that most steam locomotives last 20 to 40 years, so 1960 was about the time most of the first built Fives were due for withdrawal anyway.

as a owner of the Cornish Rivera of th3 50s line i think it's ok and i think that GWR and LMS are the best with Southern being trash

It does not take an expert to know when someone describes any of the Big Four as "trash", that person is either ignorant, young, or both. For your information, the Southern was the only one of the Big Four to semi-consistently run a profit, owing to its Central Line (what used to be the Brighton mainline).
