Glossop Line is a route for Train Sim World 3. Features the route starts from modern Manchester Piccadilly to Hadfield and Glossop with the Northern BR Class 323. It's Northern Railway first in Train Sim World.
The Glossop Line is a remnant of the legendary Woodhead Line, which closed in 1981. The line opened in 1845 as a cross-Pennines connection running from Sheffield to Manchester, and was notably electrified in 1953 at a voltage of 1.5kv DC. When the Woodhead Line closed, the western section of the line from Manchester to Hadfield and Glossop was converted to the nationwide standard of 25kv 50Hz AC in 1984, and has run as a Manchester commuter line ever since.
