Hong Kong International Photo Festival 2021 features the main programme "Photography Cinema", and the third edition of "Satellite Exhibitions". Presenting 49 works from South and Southeast Asia, "Photography Cinema" explores the multitude of forms and narrativity between ‘still’ and ‘moving’, while this year’s "Satellite Exhibitions" gather 16 exhibitions, 13 venue partners and 5 collaborators, to continue experimenting with common venues in the city to create different photographic encounters for audiences of different ages and backgrounds.
Our curatorial partners for "Photography Cinema" are Chobi Mela International Festival of Photography from Bangladesh; PhotoBangkok from Thailand; Angkor Photo Festival & Workshops from Cambodia; Jakarta International Photo Festival from Indonesia; Singapore International Photography Festival; and Lightbox Photo Library from Taiwan. Through the use of screening as an alternative to the more familiar forms of exhibition output and display, we can still witness different places and people in our global emergency, witness each other’s very existence, and recognise each other’s voices from (screens) afar.
二〇二一香港國際攝影節以49部來自自南亞及東南亞地區的流動影像作品，連繫成年度主題節目「攝影院」，帶來穿越「動態影像」與「靜態照片」框架的想像之放映會及演出。
六個「攝影院」策展夥伴包括：孟加拉Chobi Mela攝影雙年展​​、泰國PhotoBangkok、柬埔寨吳哥攝影節暨工作坊、印尼雅加達國際攝影節​​、新加坡國際攝影節及台灣Lightbox攝影圖書室，為我們引介各區具代表性之近作；藉著電影院投映方式，承繼實體輸出展現，讓香港觀眾即使隔著地域／螢幕距離，仍得以見證全球危機底下不同地方人事物的發生。
同步舉行第三屆衛星展覽，以16個本地創作展覽結合13個場地夥伴、5個合作夥伴，於分佈於城中9個區域的不同空間，作為刺激創作的表達實驗場，為觀眾帶來不一樣的影像展示；並行各種公眾活動如聲音導賞、攝影行、講座、藝術家導賞，與大家一起探索攝影與空間的互動可能。
