Amazing job. This is probably the cheapest, and most practical bed lift system I've seen.

so simple and yet so functional. Nicely done way to stow a bed out of the way...

Like it ! No motors or springs or counterweight needed: simple ! But like others mentioned: aluminium frame will do wonders for lightness. 👍

I completely agree. Last year I converted over to electric actuator’s and now I just push a button

Truly that is an awesome piece of work and ingenious. However speaking as a guy who has lived on the road full time since 08 I assure you it won't work in a practical sense. There is no way on earth that you will be dropping the back ramp to set that bed every day. That will get old very first day. The rain will pour and you will be using a mattress on the floor. I guess just for traveling it might be a good idea so you can store camp stuff underneath but probably not. Then there is the weight factor. I started out with 4x2 stuff and various wooden cabinets etc etc. Slowly I am replacing everything with aluminum framing and the lightest stuff I can come up with for paneling. Stil you have to start somewhere and your train of thought is marvelous. Love it.

I’ve since added electric actuators. Now I just press a button to raise and lower the bed

@@MrChrischrystal Just watched a video on that. Wish I could do that. Mine is a fold out / drop down. Given good service for 3 years but I am going to somehow replace it. Too narrow. Too heavy.

Sometimes simple is clever, probably £1000 cheaper than an electric elevator bed with less to go wrong thanks 😊

Okay thats clever. THank you. I will rather built this than a construction with ropes and winds.

Is there any way I could make an elevator bed that uses a crank ? I don’t want to do it fully manual but also no electric
