Trail of Cedars and Avalanche Lake trail | TWO BEAR SIGHTINGS | Glacier National Park 2021 [Day 1]

Taking you with us to explore the gem of the national parks of USA, Glacier National Park. Located in Montana and bordering with Canada, Glacier National park is truly one of the most unique places to visit during summers with mellow weather and snow capped glaciers. We started our visit by hiking to the Avalanche lake. This ~4 mile, ~800 ft hike takes you along the trail of Cedars and finally to the blue waters surrounded by lush green mountains. On a bright sunny day, you can see the water crystal clear and can appreciate the true colors of this place. A part of the trail is along the avalanche creek and the rest is under shade. Although, it was smoky the day we visited here, but the views were still breathtaking. The biggest highlight of this trip was spotting a black bear on the trail. This was our first close encounter with wildlife in Glacier and we were all riled up for our next trails in the coming days. All in all, this trail should definitely be on top of your list, especially if you are not planning on doing long hikes. In the next few videos, we will take you to some pristine locations in Glacier NP showing the diversity of this beautiful park.

Loving your videos. So did the bear just go off into the woods? Can you tell me what kind of water bottle you used and what kind of strap does your husband use to hold his camera on his backpack. We are going in September and I am searching for easy hikes since we are in our late 60's.

Thanks for watching. Yes, we had enough people shouting at the bear which led him to wander off in to the woods. We used the KATADYN water bottle, which is very useful and provides filtered water. For the camera holder, we use the PEAK DESIGN CLIP, which can be bought on amazon or REI store. Again, very useful and efficient. Since you are going in September, might I remind you that try to chose a date before the GTTSR entry closes. Typically, hotels and roads start getting closed during this time. Check out our other videos on the GLACIER NATIONAL PARK series where we have small and easy hike recommendations as well. Have fun.
