This really clears up some confusion about the lions at that time. We need a flow chart to keep the lions sorted out. Around this time there was a young male lion named Big Boy who, with his litter mate, was taken in by Nana. Nana was an old female lioness who was legendary in the Kruger. The boys had terrible mange, but Nana didn't allow anybody to hurt them. She loved them like a mom until she finally died. Then their lives got worse. One died and later Big Boy died under mysterious circumstances. It's hard to follow the lion stories from this time. So much was happening. Thank you for explaining the Tsala lions.

I love all pride names . But sad thing is male lions are very unfortunate animals as they are born they are in a constant threat of being killed by other adult males who take over their father's pride then when they are about to grow mane they are abandoned by the pride and about 4 yrs of age they have to fight a death battle to take over the pride and chances are 50/50 they could be king or a dead lion then just after 2 years of reign when they have to fight death battle constantly they are already pass their prime just within 7-8 years of age and die fighting the last death battle and if they are lucky they can get out alive but die cuz of hunger and wounds. It's tough to be a male lion that's why I have a huge respect for these magnificent animals in all of the animal kingdom. That's why I prefer lions over any animals cuz they are the toughest S.O.B around.
