Yes I also wish so too. I will find out one thing after another just to forget, because there is so much going on. For example I am not sure how many generations back their fathers of the Avocas or grandfathers had a big huge coalition of 9 or 12 at some point. They were called the giraffe/ Avocas coalition. Appearantly they were half brothers or full brothers and cousins but from different prides I think maybe they had split prides, but I’m not sure so that big and huge coalition their fathers were might of happened through luck they all became nomadic and since they were all in the area from different prides but they had the same fathers controlling all these prides it is why and how they were 9 and 12 some even argue. I am not sure how a coalition that big dies, but I think there was one of their fathers was still alive a few years ago, but I haven’t heard anything from him anymore he was old already, but that same big coalition i think while they were younger maybe 5 or 6 I am not sure killed one of the Northern Matimbas. That was in 2014. If they were 5 or 6 years old back then I am confused how they all died so quick or maybe they are just deep in Kruger but they hunt them there so I am not sure.

The resemblances are strong between the Daddies and both Avoca Coalitions of their sons. Many challenging changes have occured with the Northern Avocas who I didn't know sired almost 20 Cubs. Southern Avocas consistently look Magnificent living peaceful, but handle any issues with great impact.

All the Avoca/Giraffe males were full blooded brothers born into the Giraffe pride in early (2) and late (4) 2009 in Eastern Klaserie. The dominant male Brutus - the male at 0:09 - was one of the fiercest lions in KNP and it is mostly his genes we see in the Avoca boys. The Giraffe males ousted the northern Matimbas from Ngala when they took over the Birmingham Pride in 2015/16, killing Shaka in Jan.2016, then Slitnose in 2017, and dominating but sparing Whiteface Matimba in 2017. The Giraffe males also had one younger brother born 2011 who is the massive solo male who runs the Blackdam pride in Thornybush. The Avocas have a cousin the Red Road male who is dominant over the Nharu pride in Manyeleti, the Nharu pride are the three sisters of the Birmingham Boys.

It will be interesting when & if this union happens. They clearly know each others roars & voices as they're all individually unique as are ours. They would also know each others scent, as it doesn't ever change from birth. Why didn't the older 2 just wait a bit for the other 3? I'm guessing they don't know just how hard it is out there until they experience it, especially coming from such a secure/stable pride as they did. They left full of piss & vinegar, testosterone telling them they can't wait any longer..

I have always been thinking the same thing. Well at some point these lions get older, and injuries happen like they said one of the ones in the north got hurt hunting. I think I’m the future they might cross paths. They will ether join or fight I think they would fight. The longer they are splitter I have a feeling they will fight. I think maybe when they get older they might join if a few of them die.

Like this A. guy said. Southern avocas have had only one pride under their controll in the beginning and now they dont seem to be conectrated on one pride. That is a bad strategy. I think the northern avoca have taken their two prides since the beginning and have stayed there, not moved. That brings more stability for the pride females to mate and have cubs. The southern avocas own a pride in south ss and a pride in kruger. Matimbas did that too, but one of the matimbas stayed most of the time in the pride in kruger while the other 5 stayed in Sabi sands. The strategy of southern avocas has flaws. They have more territory than two lions are supposed to have, but they can not stay in the territory. That causes the fact that the females dont fully trust them. Dont get me wrong pls. Both coalitions are strong

A But what does that bring? What good it is when you have a lot of lionesses and fail to raise cubs to maturity? You know, they dont even have a core territory. Have you heard of Notch coalitions sons called rekero boys in naboisho? They took 4 prides when they 5.5 years old. When they were 7.5 years old they took another pride( 5 in total). But their core territory were these four prides not the one that they took two years later. And it was always one lion concentratin in one pride almost every day. They met often and patrolled together but they had a main/ core territory. Southern avocas dont have one. I think its better to have few females and controll your territory than have a lot of females and not be able to controll it

Dang it!.. Those boys have had more problems with injured legs and paws. Let's hope he pulls thru once again.. Mohawk providing him with food is a good sign, the good protein and rest will help. I'd assume they checked his leg for snares, arrows or car accident & treat if so.. . I've read with so few people on the reserves right now, poaching is rampant, sick azzholes!

Northern Avocas are not both proud ... Dark Mane stays with the Talamati and their 9 cubs who are older, Since August 2019 Dark Mane is not with his brothers. Nkuhuma Cubs, there are 9 currently. The Nkuhuma had 9 cubs but 1 was lost and 8 remained. At the end of the year the lioness Chela had 4 cubs, only 1 is alive. the other 3 dead

That is a good question. Didn’t they do that with the Selaties? Do you think is where the lions are in location or they just give names to the lions that were easier to name?

Make lions don’t raise cubs. FACT!!! They protect the pride. The females do all the raising and the teaching of how to hunt etc. In fact a lot of the time the make lions are marking their borders 💪🏻

Correct, to add on, the biggest threat to lion cubs are hyenas and other lions, (other males in particular). As you stated the males are always protecting/marking the boarders. That essential to cubs survival. That why the males are so important. Female are enough to protect the cubs from other threat that aren’t hyenas and other male lions.
