Pubs are needed around Old Trafford. A huge sports bar style pub would be welcome. I don’t want to move Old Trafford though. I think that would be a travesty.

Do u guys want to knock the current old trafford down? If so why? Just upgrade and renovate the stadium, u guys already have a 75,000 capacity stadium, its not like u have a small capacity stadium and u need to upgrade.

@@Extreme2SwaggerHD we have to. The cost to renovate and what you end up with is not worth it. The pipe work and electrics are ancient. The railway line right behind the south stand is a huge issue. The seats being so close together you can barely fit is another issue. The concourse is so small it leads to people not wanting to socialise there like they do at modern stadiums. Jim Ratcliffe keeps saying best in class, so let’s go and build the best in class.

I work for Trafford Council and can tell you that this has been planned for a number of years. It was in Traffords spacial plan 3 or 4 years ago

Nothing less than 100,000 capacity, retractable rod and pitch to maximise use of the stadium for football and other events! Utilise the stadium for major and community events. Downsize the current ground and build hotels, bars, restaurants. Hotels and apartments to ensure the area is transformed.

Good morning Sam, speedy recovery mate, this isn't an easy project as the area as we know is/was predominantly an industrial area, I'd like to know if its going to be as de-industrialised for a better social use or be part of both, I'll go agsin the grain here and say how wonderful it would be to have the stadium next to the water for better ascetics where waterside bars can be added ect... Im excited about our future and like many i was against sir jim but i can honestly say the evidence of what theyve done has completely changed my mind

That side of the river does need development, im not a season ticket holder but I do live on a direct train line in so I've been around Salford quays a lot and to be honest the difference is stark, you have media city, bars resteraunts ect on one side, and Old Trafford and not much all on the other. So I'm glad yo see this come through

If they have the commitment, they can build a new stadium next to the existing one, in the style and tradition of the current one. The Yankees did it in NYC, in the Bronx. They built a brand new, modern baseball stadium one block away. So yes, I hope they do this around the area of Old Trafford.

Bit like surrounding area of Wembley Stadium. There are flats, bars, hotels and a designer outlet. So "Wembley of North" 😃

All the greatness that happened at OT will forever be written in history. I think we need a new stadium moving forward, create a new history in the years to come. A new stadium will also be much easier to upgrade 10-20 years in the future

Warfside master plan via peel holdings, let’s put a Starbucks here, a Frankie and bennies there. Oh we need a Costa too, it becomes a clone of every other area peel or mcalpines get involved in. Nothing for independent businesses due to the cost of rent. The area needs an injection but do we need the same model?

Then it turns into a ghost town. And the developer and owners don't care about occupancy because they're just borrowing against the "assets". Maybe we'll even see some fake chocolate stores come up because they help with business rates evasion and money laundering activities.

Sir Jim wasn't my choice of new owner but he's done more in the last few months than the Glazers have done in nearly twenty years. . Things look much more positive since Sir Jim's arrival although I don't want to get over excited too soon but I'm happy things seem to be moving forward at last..

I know how you feel its a bit of a shell shock moment. I'm over the moon with Sir Jim Ratcliffe. As painful as it will be to pull old trafford I am beginning to believe it's the way forward. We will have to wait and see what comes from reports in regards to potential plans moving forward but the great news is its not just talk anymore. Its walk the walk now and we as fans will have our say.

The speed at which they are looking to make changes within and outside of the club is amazing and exactly what is needed. I'll be honest I wanted the Qatar bid to win but don't think they would have done anything like what Jim and his team have done already!

Jim ratcliffe and Ineos have a clear plan and vision for Manchester United Football Club. Slowly slowly they'll get everything right. Remember it's a process. Great video Sam

I kinda hope they renovate Old Trafford like the Bernabeu in Madrid. They put 4 large pillars in the 4 corners in order for them to not only create a retractable roof but also to extend the height of their stadium. They even had space to build retractable pitches WHILE the stadium is still being used for matches. But it might be too much of a stretch to prolong the 100 over year old iconic stadium. I really REALLY hope they can make it work though.

The Bernabeau renovation is amazing. They will have ended up spending nearly €1.4Bn on it by the time it's finished and the stadium has been transformed. More comfortable, bigger, better tiering. The problem for Old Trafford however is it actually needs even more work, and has the complicated problem with the train tracks under a new South Stand. Whether it's a renovation or new stadium, fhe cost will be enormous.

Building a new state of the art stadium will turn Manchester into a thrilling city for visitors and therefore revenue will increase, the whole world will come to us

Yet many thought that Sir Jim was a Glazer 2.0. How almighty wrong they were. This man has/is doing far more than the Glazers have ever done in the last 19 years of ownership. Sir Jim is a man on a mission. The footballing structure is taking place by bringing in the best in class. New redevelopment plans surrounding Old Trafford has been approved by the Trafford council. We're looking to by up a golf course & build a whole new state of the art training ground. Preparation is already underway there. For the first time in many many years us United fans can actually have a wee bit of hope that a new era will be an exciting one

Sam,Media city is in Salford, as much as certain councils would love to change it to manchester, its in Salford.

The new old Trafford will be built under this deal

That's all very well but traffic is horrendous around OT on match day as it is.... adding 5k houses would be chaos.

Houses won’t add cars. These houses are not going to have driveways the owners will obvs be non-car owners

Just thought of a tagline for the Old Trafford redevelopment project: "DREAM BIGGER" SJR if you read this, I expect $250k and 1% of matchday revenue for the next 5 years.

At this rate we will have a new stadium for next season 😀But really, it all sounds pretty good as long as we get our house in order before the end of season break.

SJR will leave a legacy if he can get rid of the Glazers. I do feel optimistic with all that is happening with the INEOS involvement. However, I also feel worried that the Glazers are still lurking around.

They should make it Man United World. A campus. Put the academy in there. A purpose built museum. And renovate the stadium (within the Club's area) and build with the Project. It would be absolutely awesome.

The minimum for a modern stadium is that it has to have a fully retractable roof. It's England fcol. NFLs Indiana colts Stadium would look great out there.
