Better not show my granny this or else she might stop thinking I'm the best tin whistle player south of the liffey 😂
Had the pleasure of playing with Christy multiple times in O'Connor's Pub. He's an absolute gent and a great whistle player to boot.
He gives concerts in his home. I attended one and it was lovely. He had a fiddle player and we were served wine and cheese. Unbelievable evening!
Some years ago I bought on-line a whistle and it came with a book of tunes and how to play them. So I practiced the whistle weekly and finely learned to play several songs worth listening to. The key as always is practice, practice, and practice for anything and all things that you would like to be good at. love from New Mexico.
he's doolin it guys
I love how the melody darts back to the tonic so often. It's like someone's talking very fast but they make eye contact and flash you a grin every few seconds.
And this, kids, is how I started to play the tin whistle.
Is it Possible for you to post the tabs? I would love to learn the first one you play on my clark D whistle
This guy can shred whistle
Just magic, Christy is a real treasure. Simple, well ornamented and perfectly timed. I love your McGoldrick’s, Finnegan’s, McSherry’s probably more than most, but there’s something about listening to the likes of Christy, Micho Russel and co. play.
For bridgids sake
My family and I got the pleasure of seeing Christy play at the Dooling Music House recently and followed him to a pub after; it was a night I will not forget. Many thanks for posting this so I can relive it a little!
That was a great tune! I hope to play just a fraction as well as you someday :)

What makes it a 'Doolin Style'? intrigued to know.
