I'm left handed. But reversing this as if I were a right hander I realised I nock on the other side. That way I won't use my index finger knuckle as an arrow bench / rest and end up with a fletching piercing my flesh and I also save a good amount of time fiddling about. I started shooting when I was 4, I was living in Nottingham at the time, so it was kind of a natural interest for a boy around there. My father taught me to fletch around the same age, and later to bowyer once I was big enough to not saw through my own hand (which I did once, because I am a moron). I can shoot a 100 pound war bow without breaking a sweat because I progressively went up in draw as I grew. I can honestly say those skills translate to SO many things. I am an incredibly accurate shooter (both rifle and handgun), and even ridiculous things like being able to hit a 2mm target with a blow gun from twenty feet winning me $50 in a bet. But most of all it's given me a deeply rich hobby that keeps you grounded and working with nature, with your hands, in the great outdoors. It's a hobby well worth sharing, and I am glad that people like Ola are around to do so on KZread for those who are not able to get out there in the great outdoors and enjoy the sport themselves perhaps.
