Trading Your Time for Money Sucks

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Trading time for money is a terrible idea. But sometimes, you have to do it because there is no other way to make money... yet. If you are looking to make multiple folds of what you currently make, then does it not make sense to do work that will potentially earn you that much? In a sense, not doing so could be considered a waste of time because your time could be worth much more.

Brilliantly explained. However, ANY business is scalable when you hire people to do it for you. This is how the world of corporations actually works. And there will be always and forever people looking for a mere job. On the other hand, all the jobs are not scalable since since you have to personally do them. It does not matter whether you’re a doctor, an engineer, an IT specialist, a lawyer or even a CEO. It all boils down to one single question: do you want a job or do you want a business? 99.9% will want a mere job without even knowing it; they will just trade their time for money. BUSINESS is the answer, NOT JOB :)

If we can mass produce something and increase efficiency with jigs and stuff..

See. Here's the thing. Anything that is made into a video is basically killing a part of that market. Say someone found a niche selling.... I don't know, shoe cleaning supplies on Ebay. 1 million people would watch that and try to replicate EXACTLY that and tank that market. The whole point of self found financial freedom is that YOU find something that works for YOU. The people who make "scalable" videos are in it for the revenue of the video itself or selling you their "how to sell" product.

Devil'sAdvocate That could be true but there are a million business that all do the same thing. Just go to the mall there plenty of shops that all sell the same things and they all well most all make money. The problem we have is people want some sort of online quick fix that’s not possible a good idea can be replaced 100 times, I mean mutual funds is open to everyone and you can’t even tank the market as such He even said start a KZread channel in this video, the market is not dead. I’m just asking for more ideas and so I can then see what works for me IF IT WAS AS EASY AS HERE IS A IDEA WE WOULD ALL BE RICH

Wholly F, You just explain my whole life away. I start off selling things online as a teenager but i got to a point where I had to buy stuff and spend time posting individual pic. I ran out of money so that wasn’t good. Then i worked in retail. I spent 9 hours on my feet for $80. Then I quit and decided to be a babysitter for 15 an hour. I thought hey I might be richer if I increase rate but then over 2 years I increase my hourly rate to $25 an hour. I still not happy and it’s hard to bring in families or clients since ppl rather pay less for a babysitter. The truth is what I learned from babysitting was that I love my freedom and my time is precious to me. As a babysitter I could either accept or deny a request it gave an illusion that I had a choice. I love that flexibility to work hard whenever as long as it get done even college I later learn that i work hard and better when I am online vs attending boring long classes. I can quick look it over and if need help meet my teacher later.

Yes! Yes! Yes! Yet, I do see young entrepreneurs dipping into savings and loans to start their businesses, but choose not to work a side job to help support their basic monthly needs. Working a few hours a week for $ for time for someone else can ease the pressure of basic necessities until your business is profitable and scaleable (sp?). Earning money outside your business in the beginning is imperative while the entrepreneur is in the learning phase and has yet to launch the business. I have witnessed too many entrepreneurs accumulating huge debt and losing savings while they learn the business. There are plenty of hours in the day to learn and earn $. A stressed out entrepreneur can make some desperate decisions that can be costly in the long run.

One problem I had with ebay early on, I tried it and could some months pull in a few hundred dollars with luck from stuff around the house, etc, but now that I (sort of, though I'm a contractor) have another work source of income, there's a lot higher potential, as imo to successfully sell you need actually hundreds to buy say, big estate lots and the like, or be able to buy anything at say, $20-40 on demand at a thrift store if you know it's worth hundreds and not pass opportunities up.

Which is the reason why I went to nursing school when I was 18 years old. I wanted one job that would pay well and not have to hold two minimal wage jobs just to survive. I wanted free time to spend with my family. But of course I still had to be there physically at my job to earn that money. What I regret the most is not investing money into an IRA and stocks when I had it to invest and letting my money work for me instead of just working for my money. .. I do have a small pension from my very last job that I refuse to touch and it is still making money every year but I had the means financially to invest and didn't. Just bought a lot of stuff that I didn't really need.

I think its a luxury to be able to earn passive income. Not everyone can start a successful business, or make a living with passive income(rental properties, website etc). It is nice to have, but not always achievable. Some people aren't risk takers, or have too much to lose. Sometimes trading one's time for money is necessary to live. Someone has to be the one being hired and working for someone, otherwise it is not possible for other people to earn passive income(business owners to have employees). Or the economy breaks now since there are no more manual labor jobs(ex, factory production, garbage collection, cleaning, cooking, growing food, etc).

Everyone has to start somewhere. And yet, not everyone has the ability to make good business decisions that will lead to passive income. So I’m hoping this video at least makes some people aware that there are other ways to make money.

@@BeatTheBush I agree that there are other ways to make money than working for someone(employment). If someone is willing to take the risk and can start a successful business ventures or passive income stream, that is the way to make the most money with no ceiling cap(since it is scalable like you mentioned in video). Your only ceiling is how successful you make your business or passive income stream.

Investopedia is a really helpful resource, also opening an account on robinhoob or a similar exchange would be a good place to start. All you're doing is buying pieces of a company technically owning piece of it however small, therefore some of the profits. Open the account put some money in it and read about some big brands you know of and might want to own a share of it. Google apple, Nike, McDonalds, Walmart, whatever you like have fun with it check out your first dividend payments and if it seems interesting put more in and take it a little more seriously.

You seem to discount the extreme value of getting an education on the job. It would suck if you're just trading your time for money. Hopefully any hourly/salaried employment job a person has is also the building of an education. Working at a job exposes you to other people in your field and new ideas. Working alone on your own ideas can lead to long periods of time without someone challenging you on your beliefs on how things should be done.
