    He's almost done. He had to go to South Carolina. He started a small ranch that was on pretty worthless land at first. The cows and pigs fertilized the land to make it something he could grow plants on. He had to butcher the cows and pigs before he could plant fields of tobacco leaves. Harvest them. Allow them to dry properly, then grind the leaves into cut tobacco. It's a multiple year process. Last I talked to him he was drying the first crop.

    Python doesnt really seem like a useful language for malware. Doesn't it depend on victims having an interpreter already installed which would massively reduce their target population? Even if you compile it into an exe with an interpreter almost every basic antivirus will detect it.

  • @Karurosagu

    @Karurosagu

    2 ай бұрын

    It actually is. Last year there was a huge drama on PyPi because of spyware inside some libraries. Although the libraries are not targeted for the everyday user, they are still targeting at software developers, researchers, etc... and for any company that develops software that can be a huge problem Besides, in Python nowadays there is a way of compiling programs using Nuitka which transpiles python code to C code (using Cython) and then into machine code producing a statically linked binary executable (on windows, an EXE that does not depend on anything else to run) So TLDR, Python IS useful for building malware

  • @Karurosagu

    even tho Nuitka exists, most script kiddies prefer pyinstaller, and sometimes try to obfuscate it. but in most of cases it is something as simple as first result of googling "python obfuscator online". but in most cases python obfuscation comes to one of two possible points: a) calling eval or exec with source code of malware b) calling eval or exec with already "compiled" bytecode, which can be disassembled

  • @CipherDeveloperYT

    @CipherDeveloperYT

    Ай бұрын

    and in my opinion python is good only for beginning (or if you are script kiddie who just steals from github). yeah, python is easy, but in most cases python malwares are just not ready for "prod" - file size is too big, it is easy to detect that it is python and sometimes it just does not work. and because most of malwares are just forks of each other, they a) already in AV databases b) share common errors
