Good content! How do you feel the brakes are with the new pads? I know the stock ones overheat pretty easily on track. Also did you notice a big difference with the rear sway bar? Is it a necessary upgrade for the track or just your preference?

Thanks! Pads are awesome. Very consistent I can do laps all day without fade. Medium to light track duty it’s definitely adequate. Only comment I’d say the brake system as a whole is missing absolute stopping power at high speed. (System sized too small) 22mm sway bar I went with is good enough. I went with it cuz I wasn’t sure it was gonna fit. It’s the cheapest. Personally I think it’s a necessity. It gives more rotation which the car was missing.

@@dilonkao awesome thanks for the reply! I’ll most likely go with a similar setup then. Just didn’t want to throw money away if it wasn’t worth it! Do you feel a big brake kit is the only solution for high speed track braking then?

@@TheDJLOOTZ BBK is the easiest path and most costly lol. For my current driving skill, a consistent setup is good enough for me to work with. For high speed there are definitely workarounds. I’m thinking about a more aggressive compound for the front when my current pads wear out. Heard from an OG Honda shop, they recommended XP12 front and XP10 rear setup. I’m running XP10 front and rear. Could be the reason brakes are not torquey enough at high speed. Worth a try.

Cool you replied under this video as I was trying to get a kid into track driving. Autocross was my gateway ‘drug’. I did that couple years ago with my Miata. It’s low cost, requires no prep at the beginning and almost any cars are ready to go for autox. And it’s low stress and one will be solo on a course. When I was more comfortable of that I got a taste of Nelson Ledge with SCCA. It was purely grass root motorsport. Civic Si is king in SCCA autox GS and that’s the main reason I got my car. Autox lacking presence in my region is another story. If you would like to just gain some basic high performance driving on track, clubs or events like Gridlife, SCCA, BMW, Audi, Chin, HoD, Autointerest are all really good ones to run with. Usually one will get education on track days or events. And there are a lot more on MotorSportReg, or your favorite FB page. Compared to autox, HPDE does cost a premium. And be ready to get surprised by the cost of race compound rubbers.

It does have some other problems too. Like lower power, rev hang, lower resale value than competitors, just FWD and factor in huge upmarks. One can live with them by shutting out the real world.
