Our Canadian SI has so many great options with the heated steering, heated rear seats, sunroof. As much as I’d love to drive a type R, you can’t get those livable features in that type R model. As a daily it’s hard to give up that stuff.

I can see why you’d want the HEATING features of the Si, given where you live. I’m not saying that southern Canada is nothing but cold (as some people seem to think), by any means, but I did visit Montreal once, when it was -30 degrees Fahrenheit! It was COLD! Fortunately, the next day the temperature rose to about 30 degrees… 60 degrees warmer.

My BMW starts every time, too, and furthermore, it has not only never broken down in 50K miles, it hasn’t cost much in repairs, either (a set of coils, the oil filler gasket, that’s it). I bought it at 11K for $22,750, and feel like I got a pretty good deal!
I bought a 2024 yesterday. I didn't test drive it after trusting your great videos. The first time I drove it was 67 miles home from the dealership (at dusk) but I made it. It reminds me of when my 1997 E36 M3 was new, though that was rear wheel drive and 0-60 in 5.7 vs 6.6. But I was 27 then and I'm turning 54 this year. The gas mileage did it for me.

I saw a Type R yesterday which cost $53,000 sticker (that had $5,995 regional markup). This was $29,100 (I actually paid $31,030 with their add on maintenance they forced on me.). I just couldn't bring myself to pay that much for FWD.
I definitely plan on getting a new Si in the future. I feel like it's a perfect daily driver that can get you where you need to go with enough sportiness that it's fun to do so. And I just love the simple design of the new Si, interior and exterior. It's just a really good car overall I think.

I don't really miss the handbrake. I have an E-brake in my A6 C6 and it's very well made. I only have to press it once, when I stop driving and never worry about it. In my A4 B7 it's a pain as the handbrake is a little loose and I have to move my armrest out of the way every single time I want to use it.

It's sad how excited I've been for this update video. Thanks for the long-term reviews. I wish more KZreadrs would do this.
Picked up an Integra a few months ago and it quickly became my all time favorite car. Glad you mentioned fuel efficiency because it's such a great feeling going for a drive knowing you're still sipping fuel while still having a blast. It really is a great balance of so many things.

Just got an 11th gen SI. I've only ever had rwd cars, 300zx 328ci G35 G37. The 11th gen SI is my favorite car to date besides my 328ci. I look forward to driving this car every single day. The LSD is no joke and can handle whatever corner you throw at it, it's insane technology. When you're keeping the revs low, you'll get 31-39mpg. 0-60 times mean nothing, this car will pull you when you need it and you'll have a huge smile doing it. In a world where EVs are stealing the soul of the auto enthusiast, it's our job to keep cars like the SI, Z, Supra, M series, WRX alive.. Especially with a standard transmission. Honda, please never stop making sports cars, you won my vote with this 11th gen.

Love your enthusiasm and explanations while driving. It’s a great little car, I’ve had a ‘76 Civic sedan and an ‘84 Civic S which I both loved for many years. Been driving an ‘02 WRX wagon for the last 22 years and as advanced as this car is compared to it they both are about connected, driving fun, which ultimately, is what matters. Probably ordering a ‘24 Impreza RS (keeping the bugeyes for fun canyon runs) which I hope will also evoke that fun enough spirit of driving. Always enjoyable to experience your reviews.
Thank you for being objective and valuing it for what it is and not for what it is not. Keep rockin'! Got a 24 Si BTW.

What a great review, very pleasant to listen to and that MPG is Sooooo appealing
seats are a really important thing! A couple of months ago I finished my behind-the-wheel driving to obtain my driver's permit, the car it was done in was a 2021 corolla, and let me say those seats hurt my back so much, even only driving for a couple hours in a row max.
I love your comment about the seats being office chairs, because I thought the same thing about Honda seats for the longest time. I bought a 8th gen si seat and turned it into an office chair lol
I bought my Si because of your videos. This car is definitely a gem. 👍🏽
I am so excited for your type r videos
I also got my 2022 Si in March and it's funny how even though it's my daily (the only car I own)... I've only managed to put in 4600k miles. Mind you my job and school are really close to where I live but I've been enjoying it! It was a tough decision for me to pick which car I wanted because I was also looking into the GR86 Premium or a Tesla Model 3. Being that I've always wanted to learn and drive a manual, I was sold over all the amenities you get with the SI over the 86. I only wished that the Si's got the same features the Canada versions got which include the heated seats, heated steering wheel, fog lights, and the different gauge on the dashboard. I'm sure there's a way to buy a conversion kit for it but regardless I plan on keeping it stock and enjoying it how it is!
We just got the very same car and color without even test driving because the car had just gotten to the dealership and wasn’t ready. My wife wanted a manual and that was the only car you could find. We paid about $35k out the door. I didn’t realize we were lucky to get this car. We going back to the dealership on Monday to get the car and finally drive. I have high expectations now. Thanks for the awesome feel good review.
Good to see a review of a new, fun, cheap manual car. I feel the same way about my GR86 minus the fuel economy. Fun to drive every time and all the controls, ergonomics just make sense. Congrats on the Type R!
Thanks for the review! I would like to get one of these for our children to share fairly soon. It helps to have this info.
love the content man
The Si will be missed, but I’m super excited to see you in the CTR!
I've been wanting to get a Honda Civic Si since 1999, when the beautiful blue Si coupe came out. I just love it!
It's crazy how far fuel economy has come. My daily driver is a 2015 LX, and the Fuel economy I'm getting is a hair higher than what you're expecting for the CTR
Once Ted bought the SI I've been wanting one. Reliable with a 6speed and although the car doesn't come with a heated steering or motor powered seats, I can live without those features.
I'm about to buy one. I can't wait
Thanks for the video, I'm considering an SI for daily use as I want something with good MPG but not something that's completely boring to drive and it seems like the SI covers that pretty well.
Really jealous of how the Civic Si just seems like a nice place to be. My Fiesta ST is pretty claustrophobic and, after 35,000 miles, it's starting to show its supercheap supermini roots. Everyone is hyper-focused on what the Civic Si doesn't have, but it has so much going for it for the price. The value is really there.

That was my problem with the FiST too. I had one new a few years ago and at 6,500 miles I didn’t have a great feeling in terms of long term rigidity. That being said it was one of the most fun cars to drive in anger that I’ve ever driven. The Civic Type R I purchased after had a bank vault feel in comparison.
@justinwieduwilt5420

I’m really trying to find something to make me want to get out of my FiST… but I love the small size and claustrophobic-nature of it!!! And the handling feeling that comes with it. I lucked into finding a new SI at a no markup, MSRP only dealership near me (I was there to look at a used car but they had just gotten the SI that day and somehow no one had reserved it), and I wanted sooo bad to like it, knowing that many people would love to be able to get one at sticker, so I started the deal, worked out the terms, then backed out… because I realized I wouldn’t have been as excited/happy to get into it everyday as I am with my FiST. Yea, the interior in the SI is probably it’s best feature, and everything looks great and is laid out in a driver friendly way. And Just from the test drive i could see the gas mileage would be great on my commute. And I liked that It felt like a bit of a throwback in the sense of there isn’t a lot of unnecessary features and a lot of drive modes to pick from, both of which are also features I enjoy in the FiST (It’s just such a pure drivers car, no unnecessary safety features that enthusiasts don’t really want, no gimmicky drive modes) But to me the exterior styling of the SI is meh (I really dislike sedans though), and the engine felt less eager than the fist. Ultimately, since my Fiesta is paid off, I realized if/when I’m going to take on a payment, I want get at least a bit of a performance upgrade, which the SI simply didn’t feel like. And I realized I don’t want to be taking myself into a liking a car because it gets great gas mileage, which is basically what I was doing. Also, I test drove the SI immediately after test driving an Elantra N, and the Elantra N absolutely blows the Civic SI away…. It’s not even close tbh. I can’t believe people are actually paying more for the SI than the Elantra N after mark-ups… I walked away thinking the SI wasn’t worth a penny more than MSRP while the Elantra N could very easily be priced higher than it is and still be compelling Also, my FiST is at 80k and still going strong. I’m having some hvac issues (blend door actuators, common in the FiST) and an intermittent CEL issue with an EVAP code, but the drivetrain feels like it could go another 80k, and the interior has held up surprisingly well.
Ted I agree with everything you have said about your SI. Every time I get in mine I’m happy with my purchase I really enjoy getting in my car everyday. The gas mileage is awesome. Although I do a lot of city driving I’m still averaging 31mpg and I drive pretty respectably. Half the time I drive like a grandma and half the time I get on it a little. Even though it’s not fast it’s fun to drive and it’s quick enough for me to have fun while driving. It’s everything I wanted in a car that made sense. The car is practical and economical. If your looking to mod these cars I would stay with just a few bolt ons. These L15 engines aren’t built for a lot of power. You can see with the last generation once you get past 250tq/hp the clutch will go and rods blow through the block. But like I said the way the car is now I love it. If you looking for something faster maybe get a 2.0l To get a little more power out of them. I would recommend getting one of these cars for a little bit of rhe more mature audience. Still if your young and can afford it and are looking for something practical, get it.
2023 si owner got mine 2 weeks ago. Loving every mile im getting out of it. 🔥
Ah, the joys of owning FWD cars. I remember taking my little hatchback off that tight entrance ramp corner on Fairheaven, the one coming from 240 into I95, I took that corner at 80, on cheap all season tires. Damn near wrecked my car into the guardrail as the corner tightened up, but a little bit of lift off oversteer saved my ass.

I like this Si but my issue is the previous gen(10th) Si had dual zone climate control, it had heated seats, it had adaptive dampers, it had more power, and it was lighter weight than the 11th gen. Gripes: not nearly enough storage space in front cabin, center armrest way too low, and the materials, nice as they are, do nothing but accumulate body oil; the drivers door handle has become white, just from pulling the door closed. Even in this video, you can see the white accumulation on the interior door handle. Also, it’s really annoying that the Canadian version has so many useful features (for the same price) that the federal cars don’t have. It’s like we’re subsidizing their cars… Maybe will get the integra version of the type R, which will have some things the R don’t have, like sunroof, more reasonable seats, and the same power.
Agree, sometimes it’s just easier to use the car you don’t have to think about.
love the fit comment, my ge8 is a perfect budget car that ticks every box and has a decent stick shift, but boy oh boy do I long for a slightly bigger slightly faster car. I think the fit being so good in every way makes it less interesting.
Finally a video of one of these cars without the driver absolutely melting the clutch on every shift
Honda has been making the best seats as long as I can remember, put some cloth integra seats in my civic and I have never complained about any aspect of them
