Man, I watch a lot of train videos and I have to say you have a skill. Showing the points like this, the way you edit it all together and the way it is filmed leaves me feeling satisfied as viewer. You're showing me a little 'insignifigant' corner of railroading and you've made it enthralling. The sound is great. Well done!

Some do it better than others and some much better. You're in the latter group. What I've always found frustrating as a railfan watching vids, are a couple of specific things that perhaps you could sympathize with, namely, 1) is snow ploughing vids. I like them a lot but they always leave me feeling unsatisfied because the track before the ploughing is often shown, the spectacular action of ploughing is shown but seldom do I ever see the right of way after the passage of the plough. I want to see the track after ploughing. 2) the other of course is rusty tracks. I want to see the rusty tracks before the train, then a study of the effects on the railhead after the train has passed. I mention this to you because you have shown point blade action in this vid lol, and that indicates an eye for detail and an unusual thoughtfulness in the production of KZread vids.

I miss the old switches here on the New York City subway. The old ones didn't gently slide like that. They clanged into position, and then would release air. When a train was coming you'd hear, "CA CHUNK CHUNK SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!" I mean, they were loud. Now, the new switches are like this one. They slide slowly and are quiet. Guess it's an updated mechanism, but I miss the old ones. I have a recording somewhere of the sound.
