Never rides a syper sport but have had a gsxs and a gsxs gt inbetween 2 MT09s nothing compares in my opinion

I haven’t even been able to get much seat time on my mt09 yet and I’m already madly in love

I'm considering an 09 SP for my next daily commuter/track bike (gotta double-duty). Any doubts I had about its ability to maintain composure under fast track use is completely gone. Brilliant riding, man.

Killing it dude! Watching you ride Thunderbolt is helping me out a lot. I haven't gotten T10 figured out yet.

Outstanding video, best I've found of riding the newer MT09 hard. Did you a lower bar riser along with the clip on adapter? What else would you change about the bike handling wise?

I'm relatively new to track riding but this bike definitely needs rearsets, lower bars if that's your thing, braided lines, and some type of ecu flash. The base model suspension isn't the best but it works

Thanks, No just the clip ons. Pretty much just that and the rear sets I guess help a little.

Beautiful riding man. Bought a 22’ XSR900 in March this year and really loving the bike, Need to go to Millville next season with it!

did you crash it? wheres the new track videos??? I just took my 2014 FZ-09(first gen MT) to Sonoma Raceway on S22's and it was incredible. But no way was I dragging knee or getting nearly as low as you do. Please tell me you're not also running S22's or I might have to give up the whole track thing xD

Yes flashed and dyno tuned by Bauce racing with stage 2 dna intake/akra pipe, no engine mods.

SP as soon as you get to grips with the bike you will suppase the stock setup on the base model

Suspension was OEM, brakes were Brembo RCS19 CORSA CORTA, core braided lines, 320mm rotors, ebc race pads

Own a 2021 MT09 SP and debating whether to put rear sets, woodcraft clip ons, and braided break lines or wait and see if the R9 releases with all that already on it. How much did the woodcraft clip ons change the riding position and would you immediately swap it for an R9 or keep your current setup?

I'm in the same boat!! I've got a 22 MT-09 and I'm on the fence if I should swap to the R9. From the articles I've read the R9 is going to be similar to the R7 in the fact that it will be a more comfortable supersport compared to the R1. My biggest question is will the R9 grow legs and have a better top end/ top speed or will it be very close to the MT. If all they are going to do is throw fairing on it and new subframe and maybe some nicer track focused parts. I think it would be better and probably cheaper to keep the MT. I'm guessing the new R9 will be in the 12.5-13.5K price range. For that I would expect an upgraded suspension, way better brakes than the MT and hopefully new gearing to make it worth the bump. The add-ons your thinking for your MT SP your going to do to a new R9 anyways stock parts are usually not great or good enough if you have track days in mind.

Good point! I feel like with an ECU flash, my AT2 exhaust, and maybe just a smaller rear sprocket the motor is fantastic. It’s really just the body position on the track and the weak brakes I couldn’t really come to terms with. That being said I have a knee replacement and a hip replacement that keep me from squeezing onto a traditional supersport so I’m trying to keep the room as much as I can while getting more weight over the front.

@@Ardrock76 I definitely think from the sounds of your situation the MT-09 is going to be a better choice over the R9. New lines will make a substantial difference for stopping power and with the nice woodcraft upgrades you'll have a great track weapon; and for a lot cheaper than what the R9 will cost. The woodcraft clip-ons I've heard transforms the riding position quite a bit. Maybe @TYONTWO can give us some insight from stock. New rearset are a must as well I believe for track riding a hypernaked.

I think even a fully upgraded mt09 with all mods listed and some still would be a quite different bike than the R9 will be, I think it will really come down to preference.

Ur crazy riding like that with no steering damper! 😮 the mt is super nimble in stock condition, with the clips ons ur more forward and its even easier to add weight to the front. I admire the riding, keep it up 🤩​@@Ty_on_Two

Scrape my pegs a tiny bit, scraped my kick stand until I cut the peg that sticks out off, and scrape my puig belly pan lol

Don't need to change anything, but I upgraded brakes, threw on some clipons and adjustable rear sets.
