Tracey Ullman Class Act - Class Air

Комедия

Extract from the Tracey Ullman comedy classic "A Class Act" This sketch is a cutting, insightful parody of the British Class system where an airline Class Air, rather than using the usual euphemisms of 'Tourist' 'Business' and 'First' Class (and all the various and colourful derivations thereof) actually dares to be honest and classify its passengers as 'Working' 'Middle' and 'Upper' Class. This is just one part of 'A Class Act'. I would encourage fans of Tracey Ullman's work to get the DVD. However It won't be like this, this is the original uncut ITV broadcast from 1992 featuring the song "I am what I am". And I have a question for any Tracy Ullman 'insiders' out there - why Macclesfield? I agree its a small, petty class ridden town, but there are lots of those in England much better known, so why on earth pick Macclesfield? let me know - lulujacks@hotmail.co.uk

Does anyone know where there is a copy of another sketch from this TV Special: Hethers - A young girl, Jeannine Pillsworth is placed into a posh boarding school by her working class parents. Her mother and father give up all their possessions in order to afford tuition; her father sells one of his kidneys. Jeannine, now calling herself Janie, is reinvented into a posh young woman. She disowns her parents, making them promise to never speak to her again. Despite Janie's contempt, Mr and Mrs Pillsworth couldn't be happier that Jeannine has become exactly what they wanted to become

Hi - it is from the same comedy show A Class Act. There was a sketch about a lower middle class family (Dad is Michael Palin) who sacrifice everything for their daughter to attend "Heathers" public school and succeed in turning their daughter into a snob. There is a sketch which is a spoof on the longitudinal documentary series called 7up where children from different classes are revisited every 7 years as they grow into adulthood and the scene you refer to is in this sketch. The entire show was based (I think) on explaining to U.S. viewers how the British class system functions. As a brit I think it is brilliant.
